As a retired military family, we have traveled the country from coast to coast and experienced montessori schools, public schools, home schooing and by the grace of God we found St. James School. All four of my children have attended the thrived at this school. The faculty go above and beyond to ensure that all students are taught at their level. Children are encouraged to work at their own pace and if they are advanced then they move up. If they need help they are given exttra help. No one is just "pushed" along. It is a loving and nurturing environment with the same values and morals that we teach at home. I feel that these teachers are my partners and this school is truly and extension of our home.

I am a fan of St. James! I have two daughters in 2nd and 4th grades at St. James. They are excited everyday to go to school and disappointed on days they don't. As I parent this is a wonderful feeling. Beyond that, I feel that the education they are receiving is really preparing them for their future learning experiences. The principal, teachers, staff, and parents work together as a family to make sure that my girls are getting what they need to not only be great students but also great people. I volunteer weekly at the school and see first hand how the teaching staff is fully involved in making sure that my children are engaged and getting the most out of school. This school has been a great fit for us, it gives me peace of mind to know that my children are happy and leaning at St. James.

This school is about average. They are not in the top 10% in the country. The class sizes vary from year to year. When there is not enough enrollment, like in my 3rd grade daughter's class, they combined 2nd/3rd grade and did not tell us until school started. My child had already learned her 2nd grade material.

I am thrilled to have my children at St. James school. I know they are receiving a terrific education from the best teachers. Besides the superior scholastic benefits, they are beginning their school years with a foundation built on values, character and morals. St. James is an extended family for us, and I have 100% confidence and comfort in my heart each day I drop my children off for school. I know they are in the best hands every minute they are there.

St. James is a wonderful school, near or at the top 10% in the country for test scores, small class sizes. I couldn't ask for a better school for my children. I give it a 10!!

St. James offers an excellent educational opportunity in a safe, family-oriented neighborhood. Students score in the top 10% nationally on standardized test and continue to do well at the next level with a high percentage achieving National Honor Society recognition. St. James students and parents benefit from the effort to instill the morals and values consistent with Christian teachings. This is done with a greater emphasis on the teachings themselves rather than being religion-centric. This creates an environment where many non-Catholic families are part of the St. James family. We've found St. James to be a superior and affordable alternative to the admittedly very good Highland Park/Highwood schools as it provides much more of the tangible and intangible aspects of education that public schools cannot.
