I have had 3 children attend this school. For the most part, the teachers at the school DO care. One of my children had an IEP and his case manager was excellent. My biggest complaint would be there tutoring system, which was only offered in a classroom setting, no "real" one-to-one.

If your child has any type of disability, mental or physical, do not expect any help for the school front.

D211 is one of the best districts in IL. HEHS is full of teachers who truly care about their students and excellent activities for students to partake in. Though many students are lower-achieving upon entry into Hoffman, the teachers, apart from the Math Dept., always do their best to try and help. The administration is a little over the top sometimes, and enforces silly rules for the sake of enforcing them, rather than trying to make an actual difference by getting to the source of the problem. Many students in HEHS don't have parents that are deeply vested in their education, though and the administration doesn't really address that problem. Apart from that, you will not get the same diverse and wonderful experience anywhere else. I loved Hoffman and had some of the best years of my life there.

Hoffman Estates High School is a great school. Being in high school the kids should know that it's their responsibility to strive to succeed. Teachers become more than teachers of school, they teach life lessons. The teachers don't disregard students who fail, they help them to understand. They kids who seem like they aren't getting anything from the teachers are not helping themselves. They are in high school, not preschool. They aren't going to be babied.

Hoffman Estates High School is a great school it has excellent teachers and a diverse student body, I personally believe this is the best school in the district, you don't just learn the fundamentals of education but you learn life lessons and make great friends. Also after the construction it's also the best looking school in the district!

This is one of the best schools, the teachers and administration try very hard to keep the students safe and on track.

Hoffman Estates High School is a good school, if you have a good student. But just like District54 in Illinois, if your child has any difficulty learning, you are in for a rough ride. They will try to evade their responsibility to provide extra help, you will have to threaten to get a lawyer before they will act. Discipline problems are shoved into a corner and pretty much ignored. Then when the student approaches 17 years old they will begin informing th student that they can quit at 17, or go to night school. The same with kids with learning difficulties. No real effort is made to help them or convince them to try and make in the school. The teachers there (incidentally, the highest paid in the state), are for the most part, uncooperative in keeping the parents posted about problems until they have already failed the student.Stay away!

I attended HEHS and I would never send my child there. The administration is very lax in there disipline with students and teachers. They don't focus on individual needs for success with the students. The focus of this school is athletics. I as well as many others found that they were hard pressed to get in the courses they needed for college. They also have little regard to any one with special needs or health problems. The parents have very little to say what happens in this school.
