We'll I went to Huntley high three years ago. It w as easy to find myself In trouble with the wrong crowd. Looking back on it the school was fantastic in contrast compared to the school I go to.. auctually I encourage to look it up it's called alcovy high located in best place for a poor standerd school like this one here in Georgia. It is so far behind with education it's not funny I really recommend this school I give it 5 stars. Really wished I did different because now I'm realizing how much I have missed for a high school experience. Half the teachers at my new school are hardly qualified teachers out off all my teachers I got two teachers that have been teaching for over a year. I literally can't learn a thing when I want to because the teachers can't control the classrooms or teach. 2000 + students and literally only 20% of the students pass every subject except history bits that's because they spend a whole sestet on slavery and constantly add it into the criteria. They need some serious refoatiom if you got the chance to go to Huntley take it right now

Don't get me wrong, I love HHS, but we do have some problems. Our teachers are typically pretty good, but when you do get a bad teacher here it's hard to get any help with the situation. There are some really terrible teachers, but also a lot of fantastic ones. However, there is a bullying problem here--mostly catty girls and idiotic jerks--but there are also lots of friendly and accepting people here. We do have a lot of the kind of people who seem to think they're gangsters or something and talk about drinking and taking drugs all the time. One thing I love about Huntley is the amount of extracurricular activities. There is something for everyone. One thing that does bother me is the focus on certain sports over other activities. When our basketball team went to state, they got a huge send off from the school, while I'm pretty sure no one knows that the marching band went to state two years back. I also think the football team gets much more hype than anything at the school, and a lot of the players I've talked to tend to get a big head about it. Overall, our school is pretty awesome. We've got a lot of school spirit and it's always interesting here.

I am a proud parent of a huntley freshman. H-U-N-T-L-E-Y is the best school around with great fans and a great football program was 2-7 and now made the state playoffs this year. The Freshman team was also great at 7-2 Record and the B team at 5-4. Sophmore finshed at 4-5 and the JV Sturggled at 3-6. Huntley is going to be power house soon. Huntley Teachers show pride staying late after school just to help kids. Everyone gets to retake any test so no one fails. There is not any bullying at huntley at all. The only reason kids get detentions is there doing something wrong like kissing or having more then 1 tardy. The new online tardy scanner helps teachers make sure every student is marked tardy. Huntley teachers are well trained and very nice and helpful. Teachers are funny and sometimes swear for fun. It is great school the whole school teams up agianst bullying. Link Crew which is seniors and other upper class girls and boys help out freshman with tips. Freshman are spearated for all grade leavels and it is like a whole different school. Teachers help students making study gudies but not giving a lot of homework. Huntley will get anyone ready for college and helps everyone.

huntley high school is a terrible school. there is constant bullying, the teachers have no idea what there doing, and you get punished for everything. this is a prison. we get detentions all the time, and everything is our faults.

I love Huntley High School! I have 4 graduates from the school, working on number 5. My four graduates have all gone to college and one is an Electrical Engineer, one has his Masters in Physics, two are still in college. They have all had an excellent high school education that they used to further their education! I am so glad my children went to Huntley. They also have central air and newer buildings so they are comfortable during school. Love it!

Great HS! Test scores going through the roof. Freshman Academy is a great way to cultivate focused and goal related students. The teachers and staff are great and very supportive. This school offers every possible opportunity to help your child excel and enjoy his time at HHS. Plenty of Honors and AP classes. Loads of after school activities and clubs. Great Football program.

Shouldn't I be paying for an education like this? Huntley High School absolutely floored me from the moment I walked in. The food is not only nutritious, but delicious- the chicken patties on thursday are to die for! The staff is friendly especially Mr. Tichy and Mrs. Olson McGee. I could not have asked for a better, cleaner, safer enviroment to become the C student I am today.

This school is absolutely phenomenal. There is so much going at the school and it still continues to withold being known for its size. The area never ends with new subdivision and they all proudly advertise D158 schools! that's such an honor. The sports programs are on the come back, the fine arts programs are out of this world, i could not be any happier with a high school. As a senior they allowed me to have as much help as possible with my guidance counselour. Their offices are full of information for those who seek it. Check out hhs! you wont regret it!

HHS is a quickly growing high school which has managed to keep the 'growing pains' to a minimum by the passing of referendums and strong community support. The school atmosphere is safe and positive. Teacher commitment is strong. Parent support is ever-increasing. The curriculum is geared towards seeing that all types of learners succeed...from the AP college-bound learners to the special education learners.

This school is small but growing, and I give a lot of credit to the district for approving referendum to help fund the schools and keep class sizes down. I believe the academic programs are above average (not excellent, but for a small town they are good.) The extracurriculars will improve as the school growns, I have been disappointed with the available sports, esp for girls. Parents are very involved, there is a good connection between the school, parents, families, and the community. I think in 5 years this will be one of the better high schools in the region.

Our home buying decision was solely based on wanting our Daughter to attend Huntley High School. We certainly made the right decision. I cannot say enough about the entire staff, teachers, couselors and student body of this fine school. This is High School like I remember it-a very long time ago. A safe, nurturing environment. I was delighted to find that 'school spirit' and genuine peer support still exists. I witnessed students cheering whole-heartedly for one another whenever I attended any school functions. Classes are relatively small and everyone cares about each other. My Daughter's teachers really went out of their way, including meeting with her on Saturday mornings to tutor her, (so it would not conflict with her work schedule-can you imagine?) Honest, caring teachers that really love to teach-how wonderfully refreshing and inspirational. My Daughter is in college now persuing her own teaching degree. You won't be disappointed.

Guidelines for disciplinary issues are vague in the High School Student Guide Book and often conflict with Illinois School Code. This district is evaluating the procedures for disciplinary actions taken by commissioning a Parent/Teacher Advisory Commission to re-write the policies. The High School administration is broken into categories in which one branch handles HR related issues while the other deals with financial issues. A single Vice-Principal is responsible for disciplinary actions and was recently challenged for a impartial ruling. A meeting was scheduled to evaluate the situation which included the Super Intendent, High School Principal, Vice-Principal, Parents of both parties involved and the students. Outcome of this meeting is still pending.

I moved to this area from another suburb where my children were struggling in school. Since the move they have all excelled. The teachers are fantastic and truly bring something special to their classes.

Posted August 4, 2003

If you have a gifted child you might be okay, they are focusing more on improving curriculum for them, but special education students suffer greatly. The attitude of the administration and most teachers is to get them out of that school. There's alot of fat at the top of the administration, and not enough training and support for teachers of special ed students. We have a high dropout rate and are operating with a deficit budget so spending for new programs and services for children with special needs is not a priority.
