Pathway is a school in Jacksonville, IL, for mentally disabled people, including adults. My 53-year-old brother-in-law has attended Pathway classes since it opened in the 1960s. The teachers and staff really care about the students. In addition to the school, Pathway also operates homes where small groups of mentally disabled people live (always with supervision).
