I am sooooo pleased with the school My children succeed in the speech delays, they were very understanding and willing to work with our schedules, and they are more organized than my older son's Junior High School. Thank you so much!!!
The improvement at this school in the last 3 years in nothing short of amazing. The current principal came in and made some much-needed changes. School uniforms were put into place and has made a big difference. There are before and after school activities. Grandparents are encouraged to volunteer and do so actively. School spirit is high among students and staff. Kids like coming to school and teachers display comraderie. It is a safe place for all involved. There is an elementary building a few blocks away that needs to learn a thing or two (or ten) from this school.
The school has made a huge comeback as a result of strong teachers, high expectations and a phenomenal principal.
Unfortunately, the district believes that a black principal is needed in order to relate to the student body. Unfortunately, the staff and students are suffering. This is a high crime area and the students are a result of their community. Their worries are about surviving and not about education. The lack of parental involvment is also very sad.
