St. Louise is a true gem! The faculty is exceptional and is committed to the academic excellence of every student. A wide variety of extracurricular activities, clubs and enrichment programs complement the regular school curriculum. The Pastor and Principal are strong leaders who will continue to lead SLM School into an even brighter future. We are so pleased to be part of the St. Louise family!
New leadership, new programs, and a new way of learning. The St. Louise is a great school. Have one there and one in a public high school. That was SO far ahead in skills then others in the class. You only get out of the school what you're willing to put in. Come see our us!
If your looking for a wonderful school that offers more than an education, than this is the one for you. Your children will receive a high level of education along with catholic values in a community of amazing families. Many of our graduates go onto honors classes, college scholarships and are some of the best athletes in the area. Don't take my word for it, come in and see the school in action!
I am a parent at St.Louise De Marillac and I must say I am very pleased with this school! I am a former teacher and I am very impressed with the well rounded education that my children and other students receive. I also enjoy the friendly atmosphere and great teachers! I've met the new principal and I am excited about the new program that will begin this school year. Come and take a look at our school, our new principal will be happy to answer any questions!
Please consider a different catholic school! The teachers and administrators at this school are very poor and ineffective at their job.
We have one graduate and 3 children presently in the school. We couldn't be happier. Our child was very well prepared for high school. Our junior high math program is even using the freshman algebra book from Lyons Township HS to make sure our students are prepared. The school prepares it's students well beyond just academics and offers many other activities such as sports, scouts, chess, intramurals and many more. Many of the negative reviews that are listed here are from a single family, who have even let their children contribute reviews after being gone for more than 3 years. Please, if you are considering St Louise for your children, please contact the school itself. Our school turns out prepared and well rounded students who will be successful in life, no matter what they choose to pursue.
I have one child that graduated from this school and another that graduated from a public school and St. Louise is not up to the caliber of the public school (especially the junior high.) Although 1st - 4th isn't too bad 5th - 8th is inferior to the education provided by the public jr. high. The bottom line is that my child that graduated from the public school was much better prepared for high school than the one who graduated from St. Louise.
I am a graduate of St. Louise school, and i would like to inform others that it is not a good school. My social and academic growth was severly stunted by the unkind staff, and I had to pay for it in freshman year of high school. I was grossly unprepared for the curriculum, almost as if I hadn't recieved an education at all, and i had a bit of a struggle adapting to my classes. The staff has also left me with rather unfavorable memories. They were very unkind to me and my classmates. I really hope this review will help others understand the school from a students view, which is overall the most important in a school environment.
We pulled our children out of this school because of the poor quality of the education, not because we couldn't afford the tuition (which is what the administration wanted to believe.)
I did not like this school. When I moved to my new school in 4th grade, I was behind in math, writing, and social studies. Some of the teachers were nice but some of the teachers were mean and unfair. They had favorites.
STL is a great school. The teachers and staff are always involved with the students and activities. We are happy to have such a great school in our neighborhood. STL Cub / Boy scout pack 111 is also one of the best scout packs in the area.
St. Louise de Marillac School provides an enriched education with strong academics and a commitment to excellence. Every child has the opportunity to shine while discovering their unique gifts and talents.
St. Louise de Marillac is a gem of a school for preschool through 8th grade. The teachers are fantastic and the school community really works well together. The parents are very involved and supportive.
I have had children at St. Louise for the past nine years and am very happy with the education they have received. The teachers there all care about the individual student and want them to succeed. Most of the families are very involved in the school and activities. It creates more of a family atmosphere. I feel the kids are very prepared for high school and most go on and do very well.
I have been very happy at St.Louise for several years. As a former teacher myself, I am pleased with the staff as well as the curriculum at this school. I would ask that you bypass the rumors that are being spread around and come to our school and see for yourself. I think that you would be very happy with what you see and experience.
I am a parent of two St. Louise graduates. Both felt extremely well prepared for high school. They have consistently done well in math, knowing most of what was being taught in the first semester of honors algebra before they got to high school. Even though St. Louise is a relatively small school (or maybe because of that), both of my children had the social skills as well as academic to fit in at their larger high schools.
My three children have all attended and graduated from St. Louise, and each of them have moved on to excel at Nazareth High School. Parental involvement at St. Louise is very high, and while 99% of the time that is a great thing, it leads to some parents (usually moms) getting too emotionally invested in the school. This can sometimes lead to a bit of irrational complaining on the part of these parents (moms) who haven;t had things go exactly their way. I'm sure this dynamic exists at other schools as well - but it seems a bit dramatic at St. Louise. All in all it's a great school for the kids though - and that's what counts.
My children are recent graduates who have found that they were much better prepared for high school than their classmates from other schools. Throughout our years at St. Louise, I have found all of the teachers, principal and staff very willing to listen and take the extra time with my children and others.
My child goes to St. Louise, and he loves it! He was enrolled before at St. Barbra in Brookfield, he would always come home crying saying that kids would pick on him, and that the teachers there had no respect for anyone. Now everyday he comes home with a smile on his face, and always tells me what a great day he has had. I love there new state of the art Parish Center and computer lab. If my older son needs extra help the teachers there are always willing to give up sometime, either before school or in the morning to help them. The teachers are always so welcome to see u and greet you! My family and I love this school, and highly recomend it!
There are a couple of excellent teachers at the school. But the rest are terrible. The have been teaching at this school for decades and have decades old curriculum and policies. But the biggest problem at this school is the prevailing attitude of the administration that they are doing you a favor instead of an attitude of providing a service. All my concerns and complaints have been ignored and dismissed. This will be my children's last year at this school and I could not recommend it to anyone. The sad part is that the parents and family are so involved and try so hard to keep the school moving forward. I will miss that.
