Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

We were at this school for 11/2. 5th & part of 6th grade. Teachers were fine. Parents, kids are terrible. Pretentious and very cliquey. If you are not rich, you have no voice. The rich kids bully the other kids and you have no recourse. My son was never given a chance by the other boys and I was rarely spoken to. Very unfriendly people. Administration only cares about the families who can donate money. I was a single, working mom and was judged negatively because I worked. The other moms are as deep as a bath. There is no diversity at St. Cletus. The rich families run all the sports and events, so their kids and their friends get all the good playing times. They price events so high$, that only the clique can afford to go. We could'nt wait to leave. Moved across the country and never looked back. Just wanted to give a heads up. Don't waste your money. It is very expensive to get treated badly.

My two sons now attending St. Cletus represent the second generation of our family at the school, with my wife and I meeting there and graduating in the same class many years ago. Throughout the years, St. Cletus has given students a strong educational and religious base from which to grow and learn through their high school years and beyond. For us, St. Cletus is more than just a school, but an important part of our everyday lives and will be for many years to come.

The teachers and staff are very caring and friendly. Each child is treated as an idividual. We are very proud and touched at how well rounded our children have become as a result of attending St. Cletus. St. Cletus is part of our family.

Besides the top notch educational program for all grades, technologically speaking we are head and shoulders above the local schools. There is also a great sense of community and faith. Love it!

We feel so blessed to be able to send our son to St. Cletus where he receives a top-notch education, solid formation in the Catholic Faith, a faculty and staff that treats each child (and parents too) with great respect, and classmates from truly wonderful families. I can't imagine a better school for my son!

St. Cletus wasn't the closest Catholic school to our home but we chose this for our children because: the faculty cares; the students care for one another; the messages learned during weekly Masses are carried throughout the school day. Life lessons are learned every minute of every day! Thank you St. Cletus Administration for nurturing, teaching and caring about our children!

I love the warm inviting feel of a close knit community. All the adults, staff and parents included, look out for the children. The academic education my children are receiving is even beyond the top notch public schools in our community. The teachers are firm with high expectations, yet nurturing at the same time. I am so pleased with all St. Cletus has to offer.

I must admit its a family network, not only for school and religion. But for the interest of the child's long term education as well as there well being. The teachers and the staff here not only teach education. use their parenting skills on being fair and not leaving anyone out. This is a must in todays society. This is what makes us Saint Cletus

So much to offer. I love that all the parents volunteer and are involved with their childs education. We researched other schools and found St Cletus to be the best.

St. Cletus is a family that is there for one another.....in good times and in bad. I love that we partner with our outstanding teachers and principal to create an atmosphere that is best for our children. We care about outstanding education and faith filled teachings that will help our children for the rest of their lives.

I love the variety of activities which my child can participate in. The science and math clubs offer such unique learning experiences which excite and engage the kids. I also like that the club activities are available in the summer to keep the kids engaged in learning all year long.

I am sorry that the previous parent had that experience at St. Cletus. While I, too, find that snobbery and cliques do exist, that's true of any school. I think one can find one's own way at the school, and those are overall societal issues that must be dealt with in this day and age. Actually, I think the education is the best part of the school, more than the social aspect, and my children have received an above-average education there. The school is really working on improving its preschool program, on both the curriculum and in getting parents involved in a more inclusive way. Hopefully, that will be a trickle-up and not a tricke-down improvement!

We sent our children to St. Cletus because initially we believed that it was the best place for them to go. We thought it would be a small, caring environment that would be able to offer each child individual attention, as well as reinforce basic Christian values. What we found was the opposite. Academically, the school was substandard, at best. If a family has a child that is able to catch on quickly and learn easily on his/her own, they will do just okay at St. Cletus. However, if a family has a student that struggles even mildly, St. Cletus has nothing to offer them, and, in addition, they will make the child feel like they are less than. The teachers seem overwhelmed and rely on the parents to teach their own children at home with an overabundance of worksheets. Socially, the school is a nightmare! Parents are too involved and able to control too much of what goes on at school. Snobbery, cliques, and bullying (starting with some of the parents and trickling down) predominate in this school, and even when problems are brought to the attention of teachers and the administration, nothing is done. Students are left flapping in the wind unable to trust that any adult there will look out for them or their safety. The school is far too concerned with appeasing a few families to the detriment of everyone else at the school. The school is very expensive and at every turn someone else is looking for money including the church (which has a host of issues of its own). There are many good schools in this area; unfortunately, St. Cletus is not one of them.

I believe there is too much emphasis on sports and not on academics or even religion! I mean this is a Catholic school! Parents run the school rather than administration. Good point below about administration being 'fake friendly'. Any consequences for discipline problems are a joke. B-notes are ineffective and problem students just get to sit in the acting principal's office. New, fresh teachers coming in are very welcome. The old, tired ones need to move on. Administration needs to take charge and take a stand and not let a small group of parents make all the decisions for the school.

My son received great education until junior high level. Junior high was a nightmare at this school academically and socially. Would never recommend this school to anyone I know. Snobby, cliquey, 'fake-friendly' administration and families dominate this school. The teaching competence in junior high level is very poor. The academic concepts get more abstract at this level and the social environment more challenging for the student. The teachers and staff at St. Cletus are poorly prepared for the challenges presented by the junior high level student.

One determining factor for our family moving to La Grange was the quality of the public education we believed our children would experience. After visiting a number of public and private schools we found that St. Cletus was what we were looking for. We have been so impressed with the quality of teachers, programs and children at St. Cletus. The dedication and commitment to creating a faith based elementary education has been wonderful. Lastly the involvement of the parents in this institution truly makes it a special place. We look forward to all our children graduating from SC.

With wonderful public schools in the La Grange area, it's difficult to commit a hefty tuition and get less resources than I would sending my child to La Grange Highlands. I found some of the staff have an 'elitist' view and unaware of what is happening in the public school sector. I found no reason to send my child to St. Cletus.

Prior to enrolling my daughter in kindergarten, my wife and I visited at least a dozen schools. These schools ranged from very expensive private schools, to public schools. Upon our visit to st. Cletus, it was our interaction with the students, not the principal that sealed our choice. Their alumn were courteous, respectful, confident and reflected a quality eduction. The extra-currucular activities available for students was extraordinary. But, the deciding factor was the peers my daughter would be exposed to. One year in and I have no doubts on my choice. My daughter is in great hands.

I have 2 boys with very different needs at St. Cletus. One is above average academically. St. Cletus has challenged him. The other is average. St. Cletus has both challenged and nurtured him. It is a very welcoming community.
