My daughter has been going to Pleviak since mid Kindergarten school year and she is going into 4th grade. I am happy (and sad) to say that my youngest will be starting kindergarten next fall as well! It is a great school with a mixture of bright young teachers and teachers that have been there since I was a student!

Our son enrolled in Pleviak last year after we moved to the area. We couldn't be more pleased. The interaction and communication with the teachers has been great. Very practical approaches to problem solving, and although not the case for us, I have heard very good with any kid who needs extra attention. The Principal is a pro-active, all over the place kind of person, very approachable, very nice. The support staff are friendly and helpful. The facility is older, but you wouldn't know it at all. Its the cleanest school I've ever been in, and I am not exaggerating. Security is adequate.

Although the facilities at this school are not as new and updated as other grade schools in District 41, the teachers are responsive, upbeat and have been very open to dialogue about any issue that arise. My son had a challenge with ADD and they had a team of people giving him special attention, including the principal, to help us determine if he would be a candidate for medication or if behavior modification in class would help address his learning needs. Through working with the school and our Dr. we made a decision we feel is in his best interest. In regards to bullies, I believe they exist at every school and administration makes it clear that nothing of the sort will be tolerated and proactively address these issues if they come up, and the kids know it! Excellent process in place for identifying students requiring additional learning assistance. Proactive....rather than reactive.
