I have had the pleasure of having both my daughters attend St John from K thru 8th grade. I have to admit I was initially skleptical of smaller classes. I felt the more kids the better my kids would be at social skills, develop more friends, etc. I am thrilled to say I was wrong to be concerned. Both my daughters excelled with the close, personal attention. They also thrived in the mixed grade environment alternating between mentoring younger students and being mentored. Most importantly, both my daughters were taught in a loving Christian environment that has provided them both a solid foundation of faith and a discerning heart that they need in the world today. In addition, they both excel in their current schools (one in HS, one in college) and I give the teachers and educational programs at St John much of the credit for their success. Don't hesitate to check out this school for your child.

We love this school! Great school, great teachers and a great, positive Christian environment. We live in Lake Forest (which is known for great schools) but drive our kids into Libertyville to attend St. John. We have two children currently attending and have been absolutely thrilled with both the quality of education and the great Christian values. The teachers really take the time to work with the kids and there are many opportunities to meet with them throughout the year. Plus weekly email updates, monthly parent meetings and many events. Keep up the good work St. John!!!

I have always supported parochial education feeling a Christian education is the greatest gift we can give our children. We chose St. John despite multiple options that would be closer because of the atmosphere we felt when we started shopping for a Kindergarten for my now 13yrd old. This year I will have a 7th grader and a 2nd grader attending and I could not be happier. It did have some growing pains a few years ago during a transition between principals and some teachers. The current staff is GREAT, we could not be happier!

My daughter went to this school and I have paid so much money since to get her up to where she needs to be. The teacher Miss Lipinski was completely unqualified when my daughter was in her class and the school never told anyone my daughter was having trouble. I talked with the principal and he didn't care. My daughter has lost so much because of this school and was held back a year because she was so behind when she left this school. Please dont let this happen to your child.

I love this school! I have 3 kids in the school. The teachers are so involved with their students. I will be sad when our kids graduate from here.

The school is great. Teachers are excellent. Individual student attention is definitley shown. Class sizes are small. The only disadvantage is the school's academic level. I was a student there and left about two and a half years ago at the end of 6th grade and started at a new school in 7th grade. The academic levels where very far ranged apart. School was harder for me and I had to work harder. Overall, the school is average.

This school is the best kept secret in Lake County. The class sizes are small and students receive a lot of individual attention. Teachers are like family and parents are encouraged to become involved. All three of my children attend the school and have done very well. Academics are tough...children are individually challenged to work to the best of their ability. Older students are taught mentoring skills. Christian values are taught daily and modled by the teachers. You do not need to be a member of the church to send your kids to St. John's. I can honestly say I know every student (and their family) in the classroom.

If skilled, devoted, truly caring teacher's who keep in constant contact with you on your child's progress is important to you, than St. John's is an excellent choice for your child's education. Because of the school's smaller size the teacher's are able to provide your child with more one on one attention than in most public school systems and keep in regular contact with parents on their child's progress. Being the parent of 3 children, all of them attended St. John's school, I can honestly say that upon them entering the public school system for High School the teachers were amazed at how advanced their academic levels in certain subjects.
