Wonderful, nurturing environment, true to the Montessori philosophy, where a child can develop with awareness of the world, in a respectful and pleasant setting.
We are moving to Long Grove just to have our daughters in this school. The teaching quality is spectacular, at a very high intellectual level but yet appropriate for each child. The focus on the environment, global social issues, and a holistic approach to life has been outstanding. One school visit will show how engaged and involved the children are in their own learning. All the staff demonstrate the utmost respect and care for each individual child. There are not many extracurricular activities offered (although art, music, and Spanish are part of the curriculum), but the rest of the school experience more than makes up for that. We'd highly recommend the school to any parents looking for a rich Montessori environment for their children.
My children have attended the Monetssori School of Long Grove since they were 12 months old, beginning with the Parent-Infant Class. MSLG offers parents a unique pre-school experience where children are allowed to be self-reliant and self-disciplined. They are able to choose work they are interested in learning and develop a true love for school. The teachers are all incredibly generous to the children. They are the best there is today. My child is excelling in many areas of study. It is a great place to start your child's education.
