While my child was fortunate to have a few good teachers during the time at Edison, there were also some teachers and staff who seemed uncaring and unsupportive. The building has a cold feeling, unlike the warm atmosphere at Lincoln school, the elementary building in town. The rules posted all over the hallways made the building feel more institutional than the typical elementary school.

My children enjoy the overall social environment of Edison, but there are teachers that need to retire or find a new motivation fro teaching. There are very few nurturing teachers at Edison. They seem to have forgotten why they are teaching, and find ways to embarrass students in front of others fairly often. I have two children who attend Edison right now, with very different social crowds, and personalities, but both come back with the same complaints about school. The teachers yell often, don't explain reasons for discipline, or reward. My daughter got a piece of candy the other day for getting a C on a test, the same reward the children with As and Bs got.. My daughter is on the honor roll, but when she gets rewarded for average work it makes it difficult for a parent to encourage at home the importance of good grades.

I'm very excited to see the type of education my child is receiving in this school. There is a lot of planning and care given to increasing the child's interest in many subjects, and the teachers are always looking for more ways to help their students achieve their fullest potential. The children are happy and their high level of performance shows. Good job!

Very dedicated parents and great kids. Teachers tend to yell at kids often. Great emphasis on academics. It is like academic boot camp. Weak in sports and art. If your kids can survive the challenges, he or she will score above 99%. Some sensitive kids may have emotional problems due to very competitive environment. The founder principal retired in early 2000. It is management transition currently.
