Colin Powell is a wonderful school. Two of my children have attended the school and the teachers in all the grades are top notch. They are prompt in their response in dealing with and resolving issues. I am very pleased with the impact the school has been having on my sons.

i love CPMS. it has great field trips. the classrooms are spacy. in my sixth grade year(2008-2009), we had so many activities it was rediciulous! in a good way. all of you other students that say omg we had no activies. well we had to earn ours. and we had like 6 field trips. fun stuff. yeah we have fights bit who goes to a school with out fights. seriously, when there is fights. there is a monitor right there. so there is nothing to worry about. ill be posting more.

I know Colin Powell is a great school. The staff there and in the distrist work very hard. Each and everyday. It's also up to us the parents to keep up the good work also. The teachers need us too.

I disagree with a rating of 3 for parent involvement this is my child's second school year at Colin Powell and each time I have attended open house or parent and teacher conferences, there was almost no walking room. There were so many parents each time that we were bumping into each other. I remember being impressed by the large parent turnout.

I have a child that attends Colin Powell. My child's experience has been a horrible one. The schools looks great on paper, but what goes on in the school is ridiculous. The teachers are disrespectful to parents and the students. The school administration is even worst. It is my opinion that they don't care about student's progress. It will be interesting to the see their test scores. Last year the principal always had a family emergency while there was no one available to handle issues, the kids were fighting almost daily, and seems that there was no time for real learning.

I currently have a daughter that attends Colin Powell Middle School. Her opportunities for success are great. I find the teachers to be open and willing to work with you if there is a problem. I feel that the Principal is using the latest techniques for academic and behavioral success. I see many parents at school functions and activiites. I also see quite a turnout for parent conferences. The school does a good job of notifying parents of academic problems in a reasonable amount of time to do something about it. My child has also complained about fights. Sadly this is a problem that many schools deal with. I feel the administration is doing everything they can to combat the problem . The band program is outstanding!
