I have to echo some of the other reviewers about disrespect. I have 2 children here; one has mostly kind teachers, the other has some of the most condescending teachers I have ever experienced bordering on downright rude. The office staff seem genuinely put out by having to do their job and communicating with parents in any way. Some of the blanket discipline measures seem to have no sense whatsoever. Seriously thinking about transferring kids to Parkland next year. Very disappointed with this school.

i feel that mms is a great place! the music program is really organized and fun, teachers are very nice, and there are plenty of sports and clubs that students are encouraged to join. the principal, assistant principal, and dean are always coming in and seeing how class is going, and the discipline is fair.

My son went their for all three years. Horrible teachers. All unfair. I dont agree with the discipline, and lots of teachers should be fired. I would rather my children at Johnsburg or Parkland.

All of my four children have attended this school, and I feel that they have provided excellent service to our community with education and involvement with children with special needs. I am very proud of MMS! :)

I am so happy with this school academically for my son who will be entering 8th grade in the fall. Great communication between parent, teacher and student. Great athletic & music programs... A a wonderful new principle!

I am not happy with this school. The discipline is unfair and the teachers do not seem to respect the students as the students respect the teachers. I have not enjoyed these past 2 years.

I go to mms, and I have to say that most teachers are nice, but some can be real mean at times. We have had horrible teachers in the past. Me being in 7th grade, having been there 2 years, I agree that not all people are treated equal, but I would rather go here than Parkland.

I can't believe the rating was 2 stars. I have 4 kids in McHenry public schools. I have had terrific experience with teachers, administration and the school system! The majority of teachers are devoted, smart and passionate about teaching their kids. I've always had positive experience dealing with school staff. Great people! Keep up the good work!

The importance of quality education is not a priority to the parents of children in this district. If it were, the citizenry of McHenry would involve themselves in their children's future. The teachers seem resigned to the impossibility of their task and the administration seems oblivious to the obvious. When parents decide, as an organized entity, that this mediocrity in their children's education is unacceptable and they are then willing to take an active role which includes monitoring their child's activities at home(i.e.,less TV, more reading, time together at the public library)improvements in scholastic achievement will follow.Parents of McHenry--look in the mirror!

I am a student of mms. A lot of the teachers are great but like all schools some are not. The one thing that i think all students have complained about were the extracurricular activities. We have had them for so long but for one year they got cut. Now they are back but now we have the 'pay to play' plan. Because of the budget cut some students who could have a future in athletics can not play because of how much it costs. I love my school and i think its great but that would be my biggest complaint because i dont want them to get cut again. But otherwise are school is great there is all sorts of different people and our school has a lot of spirit, its fun just to watch how crazy our school gets when we talk about sports. Go trojans! woo hoo!
