Both of my daughters attened Medinah Primary and I cannot say enough good things about the school. The teachers are always available and really try to bring out the best in each individual student. The programs for kids with special needs and for those who just need a little extra help in reading or math are excellent and encouraging to the child. The tiered learning style allows children to progress at their own pace in math and reading, moving gifted children to higher levels quickly while allowing children having difficulty time to thoroughly learn the materials before moving forward. I wouldn't change schools for anything during these formative years!
I have been very happy with Medinah Primary. It is a very diverse community which adds to the education of all the children. Parent involvement is high. The principal is quick to help with questions and the teachers have been open to helping me and my child when the need was there. The only thing I have been unhappy with is the class size of 25 or higher. Academically, the program is very strong, and they strive to have all children excell.
Medinah Primary does not offer the best of education for all of its students. They are quick to label a child for something that they strongly believe in. I think Medinah primary needs more teachers that are better educated to handle all kinds of children, not just particularly to their race. They need to understand that every child is different and not be so quick to label a child with a deformity.
My daughter was enroll for a short time in a local Christian School. I was very unsatisified and began to look else where. I took the tour of Medinah Primary and was extremely impressed. I transfered my daughter one week later. She has been there now since Nov. 2002 and I am still screaming the highest praises. I would recommend highly to anyone trying to provide the best education possible for their child.
I remember when my child, Laura, went to Medinah Primary School. She absolutely loved it. Her first teacher, Mrs. Lupa (kindergarten) made her, and all of the other children, feel very welcome. Though in the year 1996 (when Laura attended Medinah Primary School) the secretaries were not all that great, but I remember that Laura loved that school so much, in fact, this is her typing! Luv 4 Medinah
