i agree with a previous review, that is a lot of parents are not welcoming of new comers...for a faith that promotes being a good person and loving thy neighbour somehow most parents do not bring that into their school life...i can honestly say that not one parent acknowledeged i was there most days and because they are already in their 'clicks' they sure make you feel uncomfortable. For the price they charge for tuition then YES it should be a very good education. I found the principal, school secretaries and the older teachers to be very welcoming. But i will not have myself or my daughter ignored because we dont choose to live in their dreamworld click where obviously their children will be recognised. Faith or no faith, i dont live like that and i am a better person. One thing i found was the school was very very disorganised, when it comes to newsletters, raffles etc etc you almost have to guess what they want and when they want it.
I have had 3 children graduate from St. Christopher School, and they went on to succeed in very challenging programs at Marian and Marist catholic high schools. My son currently attends St. Christopher School and I can honestly say that the school is better than ever! From the principal to the teachers, all are committed to giving our students the best education possible, and the smaller class size is very appealing to me. My granddaughter is currently enrolled in preschool at St. Christopher. I am very proud of our school!
Both of our daughters attended St. Chris for all eight years and both are honors students at Marist High School. The teachers are great; the sports program and other extracurricular activities give the students lots of options.
Two of my girls have graduated from St. Chris and are in honors classes at Bremen and my third daughter is in 6th grade here. I am very satisfied with the school and find that there is wonderful support in the community for this school and parish. There is always 'drama and politics' going on in any social environment but I find more good than bad at this school. Also I think the Mother's Club does a great job at welcoming newcomers so maybe whoever wrote that they didn't feel welcomed there didn't put much effort into accepting it.
I think that St. Christopher School is a very good school to send your children. You can get an excellent education here, and a large majority of the teachers are friendly. The only negative thing I could think of about this school are some of the parents.
I am an 8th grade student at St. Chris, and have been here since 1st grade. I, personally, think this is a very great school and would encourage anyone to go here. Since I am graduating this year, I am very sad to leave, but am happy to say I will take everything I learned here with me for the rest of my life. Currently some other students and I are in honors classes over at the local high school, Bremen, for Math and Spanish, everything we've learned coming form the great teachers here. The teachers here are very nice, understanding, and willing to help you with anything you need. We attend mass weekly as a whole on Wednesdays, and pray everyday. So if you are looking for a great school that combines education with faith I would definitely choose St. Christopher.
I've been involved with St. Chris for over 9 years and would never think to send my children anywhere else. The education my children receive is far superior to the public school. But it's more than that, they are taught dicipline, loyalty, and respect. The friendships my children and I have made our long lasting and wonderful. It's a wonderful parish and school. Well worth the money.. Dorene Garla
I have been involved at St. Chris for 14 years. My oldest has graduated and is now in all AP/Honors classes as a Senior at Br Rice. My daughter will be graduating next May and my youngest has a few years to go. The education is well worth the price and I would do it over again if I had to. --Mary Beth Naranjo
I have sent my children to this school for 2 years now. So now I am pulling them and putting them into the public. The education is not much better than the public school. The teachers and staff are very are to get along with. The parents are rude. I am a younger single mother & I busted my but to send my kids to this school. Considering this school is suppose to be based on love & peace for our children I think the parents & staff might need to take a refresher course in this subject.
Great school. Well worth the cost of education.
