A place where our children can learn and grow in wisdom and knowledge, where their faith is encouraged. The classical curriculum challenges them to become thinkers and to make connections in all areas of their learning. The teachers are wonderful, as are the school's administrators, with regard to professionalism and skill as educators, as well as in the way their love of knowledge and love for kids shows in their work.

We had 2 kids that attended Covenant from K-4 grade until we moved from the area. Unable to find another classical school, we put them in a Christian school in the area. The new school followed a public school model and incorporated Christian values, for which we were happy. But our kids suffered a great loss as the method in the new school did not excite or ignite their love for learning the way the classical method did at Covenant. The kids felt an enormous sense of love, caring, and emotional safety at Covenant that they were unable to find at the new school. Not only is the classical model at Covenant superior to most out there, the environment allowed my kids to grow in their love of learning and their love of Christ. Highly recommended to anyone considering a Classical Christian education for their children.

We have two children at Covenant and we are very pleased with the education. They are being prepared at a different level for life then they had been receiving at their previous public school. I love the level of rigor. If all schools taught in this manner I believe our country would hold a much higher ranking in education. We would be able to compete.

Our family has been very pleased with Covenant. We have multiple children enrolled and each is having an incredible experience. When we compare what they are learning with their peers in other schools, we could not be more pleased with the quality of the education.

Our son is in his second year at Covenant, and we are incredibly grateful to be able to send him there. What he is learning and how he is learning and from whom he is learning is spectacular. All the other parents we've interacted with feel the same way. Go Covenant!

My husband and I were looking for a school that taught the love of Jesus Christ and also classical education. Our daughter is now going into second grade! Our daughter was extremely shy but now she is bubbly and she loves her school. I love that every grade knows one another and shows the love of christ Jesus. The staff is amazing! They are family!!! LOVE MY COVENANT FAMILY!!!!

I have had two children attend Covenant Classical School in Naperville. They have loved their teachers, and have learned things that amaze me. The Classical curriculum has provided them with a learning framework that has helped them make sense of the flurry of information that comes at them today, gain a love for history, and see how past events connect with what's happening around the world today. Their science experiments are lots of fun too! My kids love to tell me all about what they are learning. We drive more than 30 minutes to go to Covenant because Covenant's academics, school culture, and teaching methods are superior to any other school around.

Top notch academic training, yet still with a sense of joie de vivre! The classical curriculum and the hard working faculty.

We are finishing our third year at Covenant and have been so thankful for the Christ honoring education that our children have received. Our son is graduating from 8th grade in a few weeks and is so well prepared for high school! He surprised the admissions people at his high school with his high scores on a pre-ACT that is usually given to sophomores. The teachers are phenomenal! Love each one and they truly love each student and pray for them!

We are so impressed with Covenant. Our child is just finishing kindergarten and has already learned so much. We love the individual attention, the broad range of courses included in the curriculum (such as art, music, drama, and Bible), the small class sizes, and the genuine love that teachers and staff lavish on the children. The school is far more racially and ethnically diverse than our local public school.

Though we did not know a lot about classical education when our children started attending Covenant, we have become strong believers in the process. It is rigorous and holistic by design and our children have benefitted tremendously from it. What brought us to Covenant originally was a search for an intentionally Christian environment for our children. At Covenant we have found a place where our children are taught a Christian worldview; taught to reason through difficult questions of faith and life; shown the wonder of God in all subjects; and shepherded by faculty that know and love them.

Want your child to love school and love learning? Check out Covenant! Our kindergartner knows more math and geography than his peers by far and looks forward to the engaging learning for the next day!

Prior to joining the Covenant family, our daughter spent two years at a classical school in another state. The experience was so great that we weren't sure we'd be able to find a school in this area that matched our expectations. Not only were we looking for a school with a Christ centered education, high academic standards, and a faculty comprised of caring and knowledgeable individuals, but we were also looking for a community. Covenant Classical School has not only met, but exceeded every single one of our expectations. Covenant has offered our daughter the freedom to succeed, grow, and discover her love for learning.

Our child is finishing her first year of school here, and our experience has been AMAZING! The school is incredibly diverse, the children are very respectful, the teachers are incredibly engaged and involved with the children - I could not say enough great things about the school. Academically, our child has learned both reasoning ability and facts, far beyond what most Kindergarteners know. One of the reasons we chose Covenant was to find a school that not only excels in academia, but also teaches the kids the vital life skills and ability to think for themselves, which will be required of them to be successful in life. In addition to receiving grades for the standard subjects typically taught, the students receive grades on crucial life skills that need to be developed such as time management, showing respect, etc. As a parent, I want the best for my child and there is no question that we have found the very best education available at Covenant Classical School. I highly recommend this school!!

We are in our second year as parents in Covenant Classical school. We heavily researched schools in our area and were looking for a strong biblical foundation in addition to a rigorous academic curriculum. This combination is hard to find! We discovered classical education through Covenant and it was exactly what we wanted for our three kids. They make learning come to life and the teachers are truly gifted. We are so thankful for Covenant!

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
