At all level the school violate the law of the land the constitution, harrasas me and my son and makes us terrified of their threats I am seeking legal help tensure my freedom of speech end respect as a mother and my son safety. Without razon they appeared to me with a letter that don't let me speak to my son's teachers or be present for him.
My daughter is a very happy 6th grader at Emerson. The principal, Dr. Mogil is very accessible, receptive and responsives. The teachers do a good job of teaching the subject matter in their courses, so the homework is not excessive. They show genuine interest in her extracurricular activites as well. I also enjoyed my daughter's sense of accomplishment when she took the opportunity to sit for the SAT's with all the high school students last month. The only complaint I've heard is that all the students are required to sit in the same seats for lunch throughout the entire trimester.
So far, my daughter is doing well. The teachers are very involved with the kids. I'm a happy parent.
I love this school teachers are great and they organize socials so we (the students) can hang out with each other!
I deffenetly think thuis is a great school. The enviorment is great no gangs no signs of drugs. There many after school activites which the child can participate and they are treated like adults . The homework at times is a little of subject but children need to relax a little to.
This school shows no actual monitor of abuse or harassment, and when an official is notified, no action is taken at all. The curriculum is also poor. In my childs homework I see nothing but things he could use in a trivial persuit game.
This is a good school as the children are monitored to ensure they are coming to school, doing homework as requested and learning new skills that other schools don't have within the Chicago area. The teachers show care when they contact parents regarding any issues they have with the students and also they are receptive to parents at anytime of the week through emails, voicemails, etc. They always respond with a day or two of the parents' request.
This school has a lack of diversity within its walls. I think that the education itself is lacking in substance. When I look at my child's homework, she is learning about things never to be applied in life, like the history of denim. It is a waste of taxpayers' money and the student's time to be learning these excuses for education.
