The teachers and staff help each child excel and take an genuine interest in each student. The test scores are NOT reflective of the overall student body because there is a larger concentration of special eduation at this school compared to other schools in the district. Special education students are bused to Parkside which is wonderful because it exposes the students to children who have challenges. It is a wonderful learning environment and unlike some of the other schools within unit 5 it does not 'teach to the test' to be able to post high test scores. Rather this elementary school focuses on the students learning processes so they can exceed as they further their educations.
The teachers seem to really care about the education of each student they have in their classrooms. The student numbers in the classrooms are a little on the high side so it would be great if there were just a few more teachers to help keep the teacher to student ratio a little lower.
