The people are great and helpful, and I learned a lot. Their education gave me great knowledge for high school, and now college.

Pennoyer School has my vote! Starting with the Principal to the Office Staff, Teachers, Custodians and all they stand for. They all are not just professionals but also a staff of caring individuals. They look out for the benefit of the children and what they can do to make the school a better place for everyone involved. Pennoyer is #1 in my book!

My daughter is in 6th grade and was struggling in Math before she came to Pennoyer. Her math teacher, Ms. Cimino has helped her tremendously and I am grateful for this teacher's dedication. The principal is also a compassionate and caring individual. She resolves problems efficiently and justly. I am extremely happy with the entire dedicated staff.

Teachers are biased to the cultures reflected in the neighborhood. The children a clique-ish and speak their own languages, thus excluding children who don't speak their languages. The teachers resist giving individual attention and don't notify parents in a timely enough manner when a student is struggling. The children are obsessed with name brands and taunt children who cannot afford those brands. Good attention given to visual arts, but not to band. Teachers are defensive about their teaching and policies and not open to suggestions. The homework load is OVERWHELMING and the weight & number of books is, too! Parents are not friendly to new comers - hard to break into PTO, etc. Teachers do not appreciate parents who advocate for their children.
