Basketball and baseball for boys(i think one boy ran track, literally) Volleyball and basketball for girls with 3 girls running track. THAT IS IT. Everyone MUST participate in either art or music so many of the students in those activities really dont care to be there and those kids that do suffer. The school is fine up till the 4rth grade but they have definately outgrown their facilities(some kids eat lunch as early as 1030 because the cafeteria is too small) and the abilities of the leadership capabilities of the administrator. When given the choice between doing what is right or acting to protecti a teacher, the school has repeatedly made the choice of school/teacher instead of what is right. With the option to attend the best public school system in the area, the decision is an easy one.
All I can say is that after reading these reviews, each one is entitled to their opinion. HOWEVER, some of the info stated is WRONG!!!! This school has excellent opportunities for ALL grade levels. I'm not too very sure of what opportunities this one parent felt their child was lacking, but I can tell you EMPHATICALLY, FBA offers ALL of the sports, academics, extra curricular( the year book, newspaper) and music any parent could want. If you were to make the FBA choice, you would not be disappointed.
Personally I don`t like this school. Enough said. If I had a choice to send my daughter to a different school, I would take the opportunity in a second.
GREAT school!!! My son excelled academically and had a very positive experience. Great teachers, small classes, music and athletic opportunities--all in a secure environment. They now have Kindergarten through 12th grade!
Very disappointed with the lack of programs for the younger grades. They seem to start things in 3rd grade.... Curriculum is not all that challenging. No Christmas program for the school unless you go to church (the church has one). I feel like I drop my child off, and that is it. No community feel at all. I get papers to raise money for the school and that is it. I guess we were spoiled by another private school and I have tried to have an open mind but have been very discouraged by what it is lacking.
