My son has attended this school since preschool and I have nothing but great things to say about the school and the staff. My son receives special services in a regular classroom and has made tremendous strides in all areas because of the staff and the curriculum here. Everyone I have encountered truly cares about the children and they are not afraid to think outside of the box. The principal is very visible to students and parents and knows the kids by name. I couldn't have asked for anything more for my son.

Extremely dissatisfied with this school. We came here thinking Schaefer was an outstanding school based on this site, however my child has almost been driven to suicide here. He has been bullied extensively by not only the students but also believe it or not he has truly been bullied by the teachers who have admittedly "played favorites" with students whom "never lie". The principal is very soft spoken and "kind". You can decide if this is the kind of leadership you feel a school should have. Keeping my child in this school for half a year is a decision I know I will live to regret.

We've been generally pleased with this school. They use a team approach which has the students assigned to one of three teams of core subject teachers. This provides excellent opportunities for the teamed core teachers to get to know the students on their team and meet their individual needs. I feel my child has been academically challenged more in this environment than she was at her K-5 school in this district. The teachers at Schaefer also use creative and innovative methods of teaching the subject matter. Room for improvement would be better general communication between the administration and home, keep the website better updated. Schaefer also struggles with parental involvement IMO because it is a one-year school and most don't seem to think it a worthwhile investment of their time to get involved for such a short time . . . unfortunate for the kids.

Terrible school, excessive funds required, overcrowded, not enough teacher/student interaction
