We love Central. This year all of the renovations are complete. They have a new cafeteria and the old one has been converted into an indoor playground with a rock climbing wall. My daughter is in 1st grade this year, and once again, I am impressed with her teacher. The principal, Ms. Elser is wonderful. The school is small but the area is growing with more subdivisions. Right now the school houses pre-k through 4 th grade. 5th through 8th is at the three year old middle school. We are considering buying a larger home, but I really want to keep my daughter in this district. When the neighboring districts are cutting teachers and programs, Central has kept the class sizes low and the programs going. She has PE every other day and library once a week. Then music, art, and computers through out the week. Most days she has two of these. I dont want to send her to a school where there are 27 in a class and she has PE once a week. Her class was split this year to keep the numbers low. She has 19 in her class. As a teacher myself, i would highly recomend this district. ( When they get to 6th grade, each student is issued an Apple laptop.)
My son is a kindergarten student at Central. My husband and I have been extremely pleased with the education he is receiving. The school has been completely renovated and has excellent and beautiful facilites. The school continues to have a full time librarian, music teacher, art teacher, PE teacher, and computer teacher when neighboring districts have cut those positions out of their budget. The teachers care about the students as individuals and work with parentss to make sure students are on a successful track. I find it incredible what my son has learned this year. He has had a challenging and rigorous curriculum with a teacher that ensures he has the skills necessary to succeed.
LOVED IT! I moved to IL from Cali about 4years ago. My daughter went to Central from k to 3 grade. I have zero complaints. The staff is wonderfull and caring! The after school progam is EXCELLENT. I just moved out the district and will truly miss CENTRAL!
This school is small but the faculty is outstanding! My son loved his teachers and he just shined telling me the new things he learned. They are encouraging, caring, understanding and well organized. Most are willing to put in extra one-on-one time for students having difficulty or needing additional assistance. Academics are excellent and my son always tested much higher than the state average. The administrators are focused and dedicated (they are engaged in the construction of a brand new Middle School which will lower crowding, make class sizes smaller, expand academic/PE/extracurricular offerings by freeing up classroom/gym space for exclusive Elementary student use (by moving the the older students over to the new Middle School campus). Great parent participation helps immensely. We are coming back because of the terrific family focused environment.
This is a wonderful school with great teachers and an administration that really cares about the kids. My daughter is only in second grade but so far my experiences have been above my expectations and I am very impressed by how the school is run.
