Very nice, new facility. Small Sudent body. Principal and teachers are very enthusiastic and work hard to create a positive environment for students. Parent participation is lacking. Communication between school and parents could be better, although, the new Skyward program that allows parents to access grades is a step in the right direction. 6th grade classes are self contained while 7th and 8th graders change classes for each subject. 7th and 8th grade math, science, reading, and social study classes are good. The school uses the Shirley Method for English, which our family is not fond of. The school lacks accommodations for children who are accelerating in subjects. Art and computer classes are part of the curriculum under the title of electives, but students do not choose them, instead these classes are used as period fillers for students who are not in band or chorus. Music teacher/program is very good.
