Saint Damian has been a blessing for my child. Not only has he recieved an outstanding academic foundation, he has been educated to excel in character. We all know that nothing is perfect, and that fundamentally it is our job as parents to provide the basics. Saint Damian has offered our son the opportunity to promote and advance these qualities and excellence that we have promoted at home. This is largely due to a wonderful staff that are extremeley awesome at educating, as well as many noneducation staff. In addition, most of the staff encourage self growth and also offer love and understanding . I am very appreciative that my child recieves a religious background to help him to be a law abiding citizen and develop a strong character to maintain in an often tough world. Bravo!!!!!

Bottom line of St Damian's is that if your sone or daughter do good, you will have no problem. If for any reason your child cannot reach the grade average yoy will be approached about moving on. There will be help offered, but if that does not work, you are simply not welcome with sub average grades. Pretty lousy attitude from a christian school, but it is St Damian's and I lived it.

As a grdaute of St. Damian I was happy that my step-daughter was able to attend. She has some attention problems and other issues and we were pleasantly surprised that the stories about Catholic school refusing to make adjustments for these students were untrue. We contemplated moving her to the public junior high school and had her evaluated there. The plan at Central amoutned to her having a baby-sitter. She didn't need that. St. Damian provided some accomodations for her while not going overboard to the point where she wouldn;t acquire the skills needed later in life. After her freshman year in high school we truly appreciate what she learned at St. Damian. We have a daughter beginning Kindergarten and couldn't me more excited.

If your kid does well at school St Damian is the place to be. If for any reason your kid has any problems with homework, grades or does not reach the standard the school wants, you will have problems. For a Christian school, they do not and have not shown any help towards kids that are a little behind. Good luck there, but I hope your child fits into the St Damian norm, if not your child will not be taken under a Christian wing, rather forced to move on.

Academically St. Damian is superior to the other schools in our area, and despite what the other schools say we are still the least expensive Catholic school in the area. The teachers and the rest of the staff are outstanding - if only our Principal would act the same way and learn to appreciate the parents.

I am a former student who attended St.Damian from kindergarten to 8th grade. Personally I feel that St.Damian was an amazing school that gave me everything I needed to succeed in High School and life. I learned so much from the wonderful and caring teachers who always took the time to help me if I needed help and who always had my best interests in mind. I also made the best friends there while getting an exemplary education. I now attend Oak Forest High School and I am in all honors classes and I am ranked top of my class. I truly believe that all of that was made possible because of how well prepared I was entering high school. St.Damian was like a second home to me and I still go back and visit the teachers on a normal basis. I honestly and truly absolutely loved it there!!

I went there and it was such a great experience. I made friends that will last a lifetime. I was so much more advanced than my friends who went to the public schools in the area. Great school!
