I agree the school needs a good deep cleaning. It is filled with germs and they have a young kid who does the "cleaning" while classes are in session. Not sure how kids classrooms are getting cleaned like they are supposed to. Toilet paper missing from bathrooms and locks on doors don't exist. I remember the bathrooms were being renovated...they are worse now then before that. But overall my child absolutely LOVES it there and would go nowhere else. Just wish the classes would cater to a left handed child.

This school has a great curriculum and teachers are great, but the school is very dirty and outdated. The principal has been told numerous times about the lack of cleanliness of the bathrooms and school rooms and nothing has been done.

My son Mason just started pre-k here with Miss Joyce and loves his teacher and new friends. He brings home so many fun activities and can't wait to show it to us. I can't help but feel he is in a great environment.

If quality of education is your focus then this school is the best kept secret in Burbank/Oak Lawn. Music, Language, and now Tech subjects are now part of the core curriculum. Athletics and arts are offered as well. Parents could participate more but it seems this has been changing. There is a new feel in this school, seems to be getting younger with more energy. Good to see a catholic school finally catching up with modern times.

This school is a dysfunctional disaster of an institution. I know because I went there. Many of the students are nothing but bullies. That school scarred me for life. What makes matters worse is that the faculty and principal were aware of what went on there and did nothing.

This school is a joke. If you care about your child & his/her education look elsewhere! Please take my advice, the worst thing I did to my children was putting them here. People should get their kids out now before it's too late! The staff is incompetent to say the least.

I read the latest Terra Nova scores in the Principal's newsletter and in the reports prepared by the Testing Company. Congratulations to the teachers for a job well done! This is a great school--that's why it's growing.

This school works tirelessly to educate children well. Let the results speak for themselves. St. Louis de Montfort has grown in enrollment to 270 students for the 2010-2011 school year--its highest enrollment in well over a decade. The school also proudly operates the largest Catholic preschool program in the area. The school has partnered with the Rowland Reading Foundation to offer a "Super Kids" program that trains participating schools to become a National Center for Excellence in Reading. The school offers a Junior Scientists Program, Computer classes taught in a new lab by a college instructor who teaches web page design among much else and Music classes taught by a professional recording artist. If you want to learn more, visit the school web site at www.sldmontfort.com The best way to judge a good school is to see it for yourself. The office staff works very hard to offer personalized appointments to the convenience of prospective parents. Call and make an appointment to see all that the school offers.

I am very pleased with this school! The teachers we have had so far are awesome! My child loves this school that he's sad when the weekend rolls around because he says school is so much fun and can't wait for Mondays. It's amazing to hear that from your child. The principal is also very kind and down to earth.

St. Louis is a great school. The teachers are wonderful. Ms. Foote is dedicated, Mrs. Malloy is a wonder and really helps out. The music and gym teachers are excellent too. The principal does a good job. The pastor is a nice fellow, a little distant, but it works.

We transfered our daughter here when our previous school closed, it has been quite an adjustment, but the principal did work with me to make sure she was happy. The prinicpal always answered my calls and arranged meetings with teachers when necessary. We feel this school does give you a family feeling and the priests are always around to say hello and get to know the kids. our family is happy with St. Louis Demontfort school.

We once thought this was a fantastic school. The teacher turnover is very disturbing. I wonder who wrote the excellent remarks? One has to only open their eyes and ears to see what this school is truly like. We will be transferring this summer to a different school - one that has a warm feeling, competent administration, a carried-out discipline program, and accurate communication. We pray for the remaining families.

I have one child that graduated from St. Louis and one that will not. My second child wanted to transfer to another school because most my childs friends and teachers had left or quit for no other reason than the principal. What was once a welcoming Catholic learning environment that prided having top caliber teachers had become unrecognizable.

Community ratings and reviews do not represent the views of GreatSchools nor does GreatSchools check their accuracy or verify the reviewers' identities. Use your discretion when evaluating these reviews.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
