Our family has been with St. Paul more than 10 years now. 5 yrs ago, we began to seek out recent alumni to ask them about their transition into high school. Asking them how are you doing in math, language, science and the change from a small school to a large one? Each of the kids gave confident & positive responses to their experience and great feedback of how St.Paul prepared them for classes in high school. Even in science, an area I was concerned about. Any time I have spoken with a St.Paul teacher, he/she has shown that they know who my child is, their strengths and weakness. This is important to me as every child has different gifts and it's reassuring that the staff knows who my child is and what will help them in their academic training. The school has the feel of a large family with a number of events geared to bring everyone together for times of great fun & fellowship. Most every family gets to know each of the other families and kids. Like any institution, it is not perfect but people will get out of St.Paul what they put into it. Get involved and come to school often, your family will blessed and your children will receive a great quality Christian education.
The school is failing. Student population is in the 80s. Tuition has risen 2 years straight. You will find many positive reviews entered as an attempt to save the school. Small student to teacher ratio, however, this is not by design and there are only 2 eighth grade students graduating 2014 school year. Offering sports programs are a plus, but sports are coached by parents, some teachers, and volunteers, not a hired dedicated staff coach. When you look at this school, please do your homework as to what other private schools in the area are offering and why they are thriving vs. why this school is failing and loosing students. If everyone were happy and thought it was a great school, this would not be happening. It's not just location.
St. Paul is a wonderful school! The teachers work hard to make sure the students are comprehending their lessons and they even take the time to tutor at the parents' request, to help in furthering the students educational needs. St. Paul keeps the parents updated on the students' progress, they don't wait until a parent teacher conference is held, they act immediately to keep the parents informed. The christian values they teach to the children is very fulfilling. Very family oriented, with extra curricular activities to offer the students, along with great social events where all are invited, not just the parish and school members. St. Paul does their best to reach out to the students religious, academic and personal needs. My son loves the school and still goes back to visit even though he is entering college! I keep in contact with people I recommended this school to and they are very happy to be a part of St. Paul!
St Paul Lutheran School(Oak Lawn) is a wonderful school. Warm and friendly staff. All students work together, play with each other, interact during chapel and reading. It's a Christian school that teaches children about Jesus and I love That!!!The Teachers are great, even the lady in Extended care, very very nice.Trustworthy people..My child is in first grade and we are very happy with her progress!
St.Paul School is a wonderful school that teaches our children values they can take with them for a life time. All of the students know each other and work together on a daily basis. I can't say enough about the faculty, they are above and beyond what I've ever experienced in other schools. To sum it up St. Paul is an awesome school all around.
This school has done wonders for our son, a first-grader. In terms of academic and social development, the St. Paul experience has been so much better for him than his kindergarten year in public school. The teachers are wonderful. The curriculum is challenging. The low teacher to student ratio is a real benefit. The atmosphere is welcoming and warm for students as well as parents. This is the best decision we could have made for our child's education.
We are family! My children have been going to St. Paul since they were 3 yrs old, my oldest is now in 7th grade. We have been so very pleased with our school and what it has done for our kids. First and foremost my children have a wonderful foundation in their faith, second the education they have recieved has gotten them ready for what lies ahead HIGH SCHOOL! St. Paul has many activities for the kids to join from sports to photograghy classes. The staff I can't even thank enough. They truly care about their students and they know each child very well, they watch out for them. We have a great PTL that keeps you as the parent involved in school activities. Come visit us and see for yourself what a great school we have!
St. Paul has certainly been a blessing for our children and our family. The staff is warm and caring. They treat each child in a special way. The children interact with each other (upper grades w/lower grades)on a daily basis thru Chapel Families or Reading Rangers. This year we started Walking Reading and Walking Math programs. This places children in the level of reading/math that is beneficial for their learning/developing. They have adapted very well and love learning. The families are involved with their children whether thru sports programs, Community Projects (Crusaders in Action) or Family Reading night programs. Our daugher graduates this year and we KNOW that we made the right choice in St. Paul. Our son will be there another few year and we certainly look forward to being a part of the St. Paul family. This is a great school thanks to the staff, parents and students.
St. Paul has been a Godsend for my daughter! She left a former private school after attending 8 years. I wish that I had chosen St. Paul initially. The principal is second to none. The staff, teachers and parents are very warm with the children and parents. The PTA is excellent with creating activities for the students, teachers and parents to participate in. The principal and teachers are very receptive to parent's concerns. My daughter's 7th grade teacher is excellent with giving feedback and addressing issues. I have never attended or been in a school environment as loving and concerned as St. Paul. My daughter is receiving an ideal education (religion, academics, community services, etc.) I am more than pleased with the care, compassion, professionalism, staff and student development at St. Paul.
