this school is great. the techers work with the students, they are very strict on bullying, whiich it good. i love my experince in oregon highschool, all my teachers are great and they have a study hall at the end of the day so students can work. the only thing thats bad is that the football team sucks.
I see a lot of bad reviews on here, but I don't see why. I just graduated from OHS just this past weekend, and I loved my experience here. The one thing that I did not like fully was the student body and the discipline that many did not receive for bullying. I stood up for a peer of mine being relentlessly bullied and received many thanks from some of the student body and most of my teachers. I loved the educational experience since I had the chance to get to know all of my teachers closely and have a good relationship with them. That is incredibly important to the full experience of a high school education. It seems as if others seem to think that there is a problem with the teachers having power struggles in the classroom, but I rarely saw this. The only times I saw this was when students tried to have more power than the teachers. That is simply not acceptable. We were rated in the top 5,000 schools in the entire country this past year. If we can achieve that, then why would you not want your child to attend this school? There is no reason to not want your child to attend this school. It is a great place to experience great things with great people.
Excellent experience for my daughtered. School pushed her but also supported her growth. Upon graduation she will attend a ivy league school and turned down acceptance offers two other top twenty universities.
Any school, this size, that can pass a student through to his sophomore year without knowing that he can't read, is a disgrace. I went to this high school and have a daughter who is about to enter her freshman year there. The school was in shambles when I attended and has gotten even worse now. One person commented on how the staff focuses on discipline and behavior more than the actual education, and I couldn't agree more. Its as if the staff fears these children and so goes on the offensive straight away. They are overly focused on their money makers, and let other programs fall to the wayside. If I could afford to move or send my children to a private school, I would immediately. My daughter is a straight A student and has never gotten into trouble, but I am bothered by what I see in this school as a whole. Am I proud of her? Yes, very much so, but I think she would flourish in a school that was not only more challenging academically, but also more open to different methods of teaching, discipline and creativity. I feel as if Oregon High School stifles the students into a stupor. Some teachers care, most are just there because they are stuck. It is very sad.
I have found the school to provide a quality education to those that are seeking a good education. Those less motivated students may be lacking, but isn't that true of society in general? I would give it a 4 out of 5 star rating.
the sports program and the music program are the only good things about this school. the teachers are good but its not that good of a school. good on comunication though.
What I think About OHS. I used to attend this school and I think that the administration has ruined the academic qualities of the school for three reasons. So to finish this, is look at where our sports are heading because that's what brings us together, unity. OHS needs to change.
I am currently a student, and ever since last year, I have been disapionted by this school. It has absolutly no leadership, the techers couldn't be of poorer quality, and experience and the administration is more concerned about the dicipline policy than in the over-all student. I am very sorry I came here to learn. Because I don't.
This district is failing at teaching our kids morals and values. The acedemic progress of my children has been disappointing. The support of the district to the parents is very poor. The parents would like to be involved but the school does not want there input. I would not be in this district if I could help it.
