Overall my experience with 3 children here has been positive. The new principal has been open for communication. The teachers have different standards. Some respond immediately, some never respond to multiple emails. Research names ahead of time. The enrichment program procedures need to be available for interested parents. The class sizes and space are appropriate. The librarian and art teachers are great. The students are friendly and polite. Volunteering is supported, and the community is welcoming.

Prairie Scool staff and teachers are dedicated, caring and focused on bringing out the best in your child. As a parent of two proudly attending, I have been pleased with the academics and fostering of respect for other within the students.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Illinois used the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in reading and math, and in grades 4 and 7 in science. The ISAT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Illinois. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.
