Profile Completeness

BASIC

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

Deer Park grade school is wonderful. The staff is friendly, professional. My daughter has an amazing teacher and the school offers more leaning programs than the former school my daughter attended. So happy that we transferred her to Deer Park. The children are well behaved, show manners and respect for each other. My daughter has made many friends since we transferred her. Her grades have improved wonderfully and her self esteem has returned that she loves going to school everyday. It is so refreshing to have parents that will wave and smile at you when they see you. This is one of the best schools in our area and I am very happy to make the decision to transfer her to a school that offers so much more than her previous school.

DP 82 provides high student learning through: High Expectations: All staff members are dedicated to helping every student achieve state and local standards; all students are engaged in an ambitious and rigorous course of study. Personalized Environment: The school is small so that staff and students can work closely together. Respect and Responsibility: The school becomes a community. The staff teaches and expects responsible behavior. Time to Collaborate: Staff has time to collaborate and develop skills and plans to meet the needs of all students. Parents are recognized as partners in education. Performance Based: Students are promoted to the next instructional level only when they have achieved competency. Data-driven decisions shape a dynamic structure and schedule. Technology as a Tool: Teachers use technology to design engaging curriculum linked to learning standards; they analyze results, access best practices and professional learning opportunities.

This is a wonderful school. The classes may be small, but that is what makes this school. Test scores prove this school has an excellent education program. The best part is the environment for your kids - they are shown that people really care about them and that they are very important. Great school - Great kids. They also have a preschool program and a teacher who has all the qualifications one loves in a teacher. The program is $125.00 a month but it is well worth it and the price is very competitive for area private pay preschool programs.

As a former student and now a parent of children at Deer Park, I am greatly pleased with the level of academics at Deer Park! The ratio of students and teachers is a great plus. The teachers care about the students and make sure that each one receives the level of education that he/she needs. It is like having a private school with no tuition. Deer Park has a nice athletic program; however, due to the low number of students, we do not have an organized band program, or other extra classes like art. The involvement of parents at Deer Park is exceptional! They are always willing to help. Overall, I think Deer Park is a wonderful school and will continue to be. I would recommend it to all who have the opportunity to send your children there.
