I am disappointed with this school. I found that the teachers do not communicate sufficiently with parents when children are in need of additional assistance. They attempt to make all children fit into the same mold of learning when each child learns differently. I have had two instances of my childs teacher being very dismissive of my requests and have had one teacher not respond to my requests. The school will not hesitate to involve the on site Palatine police officer into middle school issues, whether major or minor. Most often as a way to "scare" the children into behaving or what not. They will also not notify you the parent when this is being done. This being said, there are some very good teachers in this school who will go out of their way to help the kids. Sundling offers several extra curricular activies and clubs such as track, band, etc. I feel right now that this school is merely your average public school in Palatine but it has potential to be better.

lots of extracurricular activities! get involved! track team, intramurals, art club, world drumming club, chorus, band, orchestra, basketball, volleyball, student council,math club, greenhouse club, and service club are just a few of the many activities before and after school! lots of school spirit!

I am a parent at this school. My daughter attends 7th grade. My daughter is happy here. Unfortunately the main point of contact, the office staff, are very dismissive of students and parents. I would say an average school.

My daughter attended Sundling from 2003-2005 for 7th and 8th grade. She found the teachers supportive and available. The extra curicular activities provide something for everyone and the ethnic diversity of the school provides the kids with an opporunity to understand and explore other cultures.
