I am now attending Pawnee High School, and to be honest, I love it here. Some teachers can get on parents and students nerves, but it's tolerable. The classes are limited, but very useful. It is a ordinary small town school, with its twirks. And for being accepted only if you are from Pawnee originally is true but not. You will be stared at, and be the new hot topic for a little while till you find the people you want to hang out with. And yes our school will look at you differently if you are different from the rest, we are a small school. But in all, it is a great school and I wouldn't change it a bit.

First, to address the issues of 'fitting in'...Life is all about fitting in, whether it's at school or work. You can't force people to like you. If your affairs are questionable and you look like you go against the grain, people will judge you regardless of where you live or what you do. Is it 'fair'? This is not for me to say. What I will say is that if you encourage your child to go against the grain or take a stand on something that in the scope of things isn't really important, you will have a 'tough time' and will develop a sour attitude while doing so. In regards to the school system, Pawnee is a wonderful school full of opportunities. Teachers and administration care about the children and encourage them to be the best they can be. Character education is very evident in this school.

My husband and I completely agree with the graduate from 2006. The school only supports those kids with parents that are native to Pawnee. How prejudice is that? Right now, we are having issues with the length of my sons hair and school activities. If girls can wear their hair long, why can't a boy? I want a very good reason for this. Anyway, what difference does it make if your hair is long or short. It's the whole person that counts. This is another example of prejudice in the school. I am very proud of my son for not conforming to these small town ways. You must stand up for your beliefs and rights as an individual (especially as a child). Hopefully someone will read this and actually understand what I'm saying.

Like every other school, this school is a small town school and is hard to fit into unless you have lived there since at least your child's 3rd grade, if not all your child's life. I was actually a student there and miss that place so greatly because the friends were amazing. Teacher's can sometimes be unfair, but its a great place to be

I graduated from PHS in 2006 and years ago it was a great facility, but now the overall quality of the school is less than mediocre. Most of the staff has issues with favoritism and student affairs which should be none of their concern. When I was in school, I was encouraged to quit the extra-curricular activities I was involved in. Families native to Pawnee are involved in running the school, and if you are not a member of one of these native families then good luck. I wasted some of the best years of my life here and was looked down upon for not conforming to the strong christian beliefs shared by the entire staff and student body. The school has been through 3 superintendants in 5 years. Many of the art and sport programs are lacking in funds and leadership.
