Here's the deal: Pecatonica Middle School has great test scores, but a considerably pathetic student centered approach. The teaching is very lecture and textbook based. Students aren't encouraged to think and problem solve. There is NO gifted program and grades are based primarily on homework and worksheets. The school produces students who perform well on state tests, simply because they teach to the tests. The leadership is okay. While it seems rosy on the outside, they care more about jeans with holes than making children think.
