I can tell by the atmosphere that this probably is a great school, and really wanted this for my son. After going to a private school myself I thought I was the best way for my son to learn the. word of God. However we did not have a great experience. If your child does not fit a "mold" they want him/her to they will not be accepted. After the FIRST week of school we were told "they were not equipped" to handle my son, but they'd give him one month. Needless to say...if they were not going to give my son a chance, his Mommy was going to find someone who would.

Peoria Christian School is a great school. All the teacher ARE state certified (unlike a previous post mentioned) and are excellent in incorporating a biblical worldview into the classroom as well as challenging the students academically. The school's academics are superb, winning the Blue Ribbon Award and the ACT Red Quill award with a high school average ACT score of 24.0 for over 10 years! My kids have been there since preschool and now the oldest is in high school. If you want an excellent school, with teachers who care, this is the school for you.

I was a student at PCS for 9 years and at about third grade girls began to become girls (stuck-up). I loved PCS but overall if you are worried about friendship, then you will want to know that PCS has cliques.Cliques can and do exclude people, they excluded me, i left PCS only because of the clique problem, students there tend not to forget anything from the past which will affect everything. I love PCS but I have to tell the truth, PCS is full of cliques, it will be extremely hard for anyone in the grades 4th and up to be accepted. although many people are nice, eventually there will be problems, i started to not focus on schoolwork because of the cliques, it felt like i didn't belong. I'd decided to go to another school completely by myself. Yes, the academic side of the school is beyond words (good words...) but keep in mind if you are looking to enter your child in the grades 4th or up they will have social problems. Otherwise PCS is great.

PCS is truely a Christ centered school that provides top notch education while prepaing each individual student for a successful future. The staff surrounds students to provide them a learning environment which is loving, safe, encouraging, challenging, and fun.

Our grandsons are in 1st, 3rd and 5th grades and the youngst will be attending soon. We have been so pleased with their academic achievements as well as the Christian environment in which to learn and to have teachers who care for their total well-being. It is also nice for the parents to be able to become friends of other parents with similar values and religious beliefs for their children. Also pretty nice for prayers to be allowed and encouraged in the schools. The programs provided for the children are done so well and are such a pleasure to attend. We always leave feeling encouraged and happy that PCS is their school of choice.

Peoria Christian is am amazing school. The teachers are so well-syncronized in what they do that it is an easy transition for the students from one grade to the next. We have only experienced the elementary so far, but I would rate the elementary as top-notch. The dedication of the entire staff is commendable, and their efforts to provide a strong and updated curriculum that is relative to the students is wonderful. The school provides a loving, Christian environment. Our children have thrived at PCS and know that they are loved by their teachers. The students are also given lots of opportunities to participate in extra activities like drawing classes, drama classes, speech meet, science fair and spelling bees. We are very pleased with the education our children have received at Peoria Christian School!

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
