my son went to Roosevelt from Kindergarten to 2nd grade. I went threw a divorce now my kids have to go to the lasalle schools. I would give anything for my kids to be able to go to Roosevelt and northview. before you judge a school you might want to take a closer look at the other towns around you and see how bad thier schools really are. then just maybe you will be thanking Roosevelt.

When a parent puts total responsibility on a school b/c they lack the discipline to make sure their kid is properly educated - of course Roosevelt looks good. McDonald does not respond to any constructive criticism and puts blinders on - especially with special needs - both below level and accelerated kids. My daughter's 2nd grade teacher was terrible! And I don't place full responsibility on the school. I'm looking for the reinforcement of education and encouragement. Roosevelt is a substandard school according to the entire State of IL and the State of IL is substandard compared to the entire country - when looking at public education.

Roosevelt School is a mess if you have a child with a disability. Their curriculum is decent for the average kid but if you have an over-achiever, they will be bored out of their mind b/c the staff is not equipped to stimulate children.

I loved this school! Unfortunately we had to move and my children are in a far inferior school and district (different state). Roosevelt is a safe, fun, nurturing environment with fun, involved teachers and staff. All teachers are familiar with the students, even those not in their classes. Principal McDonald is involved in all aspects and responds to any concerns promptly and thoroughly. The Early Education program is wonderful. Highly, highly recommended place to send your children! Especially Mrs. Goodman!
