personal one-on-one attention. Safe and secure environment. Christ centered. Comfortable.

Our daughter graduated in 2008. The school provided a safe, caring environment with tons of individual attention from the teachers. The English, art, and math teachers are outstanding. CLA is quite small, which means anyone who wants to play a varsity sport can, and the teams compete in league of comparable schools. Parents are quite involved in the operation of the school, so we know the teachers well. Although a Lutheran school, there are or have been Jewish, Catholic, and Muslim students -- faith is discussed freely but not shoved down anyone's throat. Ethics and family living are important courses. Of the five graduates in my daughter's class, all went on to college, and three of them won large scholarships.

This school has been great for my daughter. We switched her from a public Plainfield school to CLA and have watched her grades go from D's and C's to high B's and A's. What an amazing change!!

Christ Lutheran Academy (CLA) is a fairly new Christ-centered community high school that is open to all. My son attended CLA his senior year. We both appreciated the more one-on-one instruction available in the smaller class size environment. His graduating class had 12 students! No one 'gets lost' or is excluded. In fact, everyone is encouraged to participate - and is included. My son always says that it was a closer, more family setting. The teachers are devoted, focused on the students' progress and needs. Though they do not currently have the enrollment to support a football team, CLA students have other athletic and academic teams as well as a strong focus on community service programs such as Feed My Starving Children and local food pantry challenges between the four grade levels. My son graduated from CLA with a positive educational experience, some close new friends and life changing lessons!
