I am a senior at guerin, and going to Guerin was one of the best choices I've ever made. My neighborhood school is CPS school, and I'm so glad I didn't go there. My friends that go there can't stand it there, and they wish they were at Guerin. The classes are Guerin are very challenging, but if you need help you there are many options. I think learning a smaller environment is very good, and the teachers know you on a personal level. I highly recommend this school!

I enjoyed every minute of my four years at Guerin High School in River Grove. The teachers cared about their students and made learning fun. I made many friends at Guerin and enjoyed attending school each day. Guerin prepared me well for a 4 year university. I was accepted in many schools and received a 4 year academic scholarship. I advance placed out of many of my first year classes and became a sophomore my first year of college.
I would like to correct the student listed below. Guerin Prep was very upfront regarding the length of the Nolan scholarship and the tuition is one of the more affordable in the area. This high school has a very challenging curriculum, outstanding and caring teachers and staff, and many extracurricular opportunities in athletics, the fine and performing arts, and clubs. And the laptops are a great learning tool when used correctly! Of course they have to block some sites while you are supposed to be doing school work. This school is preparing my student for college and life while teaching Catholic values and service to others. I would say that you are one of few that doesn't like this high school. The majority of the students seem to be having a great experience and education at Guerin Prep!

WORST CHOICE OF MY LIFE. I was attracted to this school because it had a low priced tuition and I was offered the famous 4,000 dollar Nolan Scholarships. They don't tell you that they won't be offering you the scholarships your Junior and Senior years, it made me feel like they baited me, and then ripped away all the benefits. ALSO, if your kid has problems paying attention, sending them to a school with a computer is probably not the best plan. I see peers playing games all day. The tech department tries to block the games and chats, but in actuallity they cant block some stuff without blocking the educational parts so it cancels out all the good stuff you could get from the computers. I can't go on google search and put "milk" for my foods class. Its ridiculous. If you really want to send your child to Catholic school, do yourself a favor and send them to Loyola or St. Pats, because as a student, this school prepares you for nothing.

My daughter is s freshman at Guerin and we couldn't be happier with our choice. The school makes it easy to be a parent of a high school student. The teachers really want the students to be successful . The communication is excellent . The school has recently made major inverstments in the athletic facilities as well. The arts programs continue to be expanded as well. There definitely is extra curriclar activities for everyone, and all right on the campus.

My child is going into their Sophmore year at Guerin and we couldn't be happier. The level of education they are getting is high and my child is thriving socially. I have talked to many parents and students and haven't found anyone who isn't happy with Guerin. That is one of the reasons we initially considered Guerin. If you are looking at high schools for your child I would highly recommend Guerin College Prep.

i am a student at GCP and it has really challenging honor and AP classes. GCP really focuses on helping us succeed in life by challenging our abilities. I would send my child to GCP for the great education and just the great atmosphere and all the people who want you to succeed. GCP isnt really well know because it just opened about 5 years ago and people like to start rumors. It was my choice to attend GCP and I know that this school was the right choice for me, so if you are thinking of sending your child to GCP I suggest you to attend a open house so that you get a feel of the positive atmosphere this school has to offer

I love Guerin Prep because it has the greatest learning environment. From the 1 to 1 laptop computing to the caring teachers and staff that teach the children on a daily basis there is nothing that I would change.

As a Student I was pleasantly surprised on how fun going to Guerin was. It was very easy to make friends and the teachers seemed to really care about your education. Also the use of laptops really helps out on assignments I highly recommend Guerin to any one.

I am a student at Guerin and personally despite what most people have been saying on here and off of here, I like Guerin. Most of the teachers are wonderful and answer any questions you have. They have great honors and advanced placement programs as well as clubs and fine arts. Compared to how my friends describe their situation of at their other area schools (Trinity, Fenwick, Elmwood Park, St.Pats) I feel lucky to go here. The other students are approachable and I don't get the feeling of sterotyped groups or any real set groups at all. The recent uniform change is real messed up though and I think needs to be sorted out soon before its an all out battle between the administration and teachers.

Going to Guerin was one of the worst mistakes I ever made. I had a few good friends and had a couple of good teachers (most of whom are approaching retiring age), but overall, my experience was horrible. If you are looking for a school that will prepare your children for college, Guerin, despite its name, is not the place.

This school seems to forget about the arts and glorifies only those who can run and hit a ball. The administrators frankly do not care about the students opinion. Guerin College Prep has not prepared my daughter for college even with taking honors and ap classes.

I am a former Guerin student and I regret ever going there. If it wasn't for the friends I met there or one teacher I had; then I would have to say it was a waste of time. If you're a smart kid and you take honor classes and AP classes then Guerin isn't so bad. But many of the regular level classes are a joke and the kids don't do much... not all the classes but many of them.

My daughter transferred to Guerin to begin her junior year; from an honor student she went to C and D grades. The principal was more interested in filling out classes than to place students in classes of their interest. The teachers expected her to know their system of teaching without giving her any instruction at all; overall the teachers are mediocre. The students form cliques and the administration does nothing about discouraging such segregation. Food is expensive and not very good. Mother Guerin became Guerin College Prep and everything was up for grabs! If I could do it all over, my daughter would never set foot at Guerin.

Guerin College Prep, formerly Mother Guerin has gone down hill. The staff was not ready for the increased population this year. I am dissatisifed with the way the parents were told about the co-eduational process that was underway. I found out about the school going co-ed on the news. I received a letter later on in the day from the school. The administrative staff tells half of the information to the parent and saves the other information to be received by doing further investagation.

At Guerin you will be an active student, not a spectator. You will develop lasting friendships with fellow classmates through numerous organized activities. Guerin will help you prepare for your journey to college. Teaching is the top priority at Guerin and is reflected in the exceptional commitment of the faculty to their students' success. Good athletic programs.

My mom went to this school the year it opened along with my aunts. I went to this school, and this year my daughter became the 3rd generation to graduate from Mother Guerin. A school that is small and personalized that educates you not only in academics but in life. I credit alot of my successes in life to this school. I hope my granddaughters attend Mother Guerin one day.
