Our family moved to Riverton last August from Pennsylvania and so far I have nothing but praise to offer this school. My kids really like RMS and they both LOVE their teachers so much. The teachers are great and my kids are always coming home excited to tell me what is going in school. My kids are adjusting well and making friends and the school is much smaller than where they came from which allows them to make more friends. Also I like that the Year Round Education calendar and the PBIS program for management of student behaviors and the rewards for good behavior as well.. The only complaint I have is that they offer no gifted education for 5th grade students. My son is missing out on that BUT he has an awesome teacher who tries to challenge him and differentiate instruction to meet his needs as best as she can.
This is a school that does everything possible to keep your kids on the right track
This school is very good I am pretty pleased with the teachers. A little more communication would be could but other wise I am very happy.
I am a graduate of Riverton Middle School and my experience was that they placed a huge emphasis on sports and athletic ability. If you weren't an athlete you weren't valued very highly. I had some very good teachers and I had some that were overtly cruel and lazy. In the end I was so demoralized and disgusted by the 'jock' mentality that my parents chose to put me in a private high school that better fostered my academic talents.
