My daughter started at Kishwaukee Elementary School in Kindergarten and had one of the greatest teachers. She is now in 2nd grade and is doing so well and is very independent and very artistic. My son is in Kindergarten this year. He had the worst time at the start of school and was very timid that he hated leaving me to go to school. It's now been the 1st half of the year and he has changed to where he can now interact with other kids and love going to school. He is now one of the leaders in his class. I admit that I was a bit nervous and skeptical about the school in the beginning because of how close it is to the "not-so-great" part of Rockford, IL. But, I'll tell you what, this is one of the rarest places where you will find the best and unique talents. This is where you want your children to be, "Don't judge the book by its cover..."

I felt like the neighbord was too dangerous to have a open playground and the school was real run down! It seemed like the secretary was running the school and overall it felt unsafe to me and I noticed alot of parents transferred their kids to a different school. My son told me he did not want to go to school there.

I think this is a great school, because my son is doing better than he has ever done. My son is in second grade and he loves going to school and loves his teachers, until he started at Kishwaukee I had a hard time getting him to focus and behave but now I cant ask for anything better.
