An exceptional school that takes a unique approach to learning. The multiple intelligence approach encourages children to learn from one another and collaborate. 3rd graders learn from 5th graders, 5th graders learn from 10th graders, etc. Childern learn not only the material but, HOW to learn. Our children can't wait to go to school on Monday and we have to drag them out. A very creative and inviting atmosphere boasting a 12:1 student/teacher ratio. Overall, a true value for the money. Not the most expensive school, not the least but worth every penny. I highly recommend this school. They also have convienent early morning and after school learning for parents on the go.

An incredibly over-rated school. Not worth your money. The school is very adept at marketing themselves using as many trendy educational terms as they possibly can. They will tell you repeatedly your child is learning something they are not. Administration will lie to your face to continue to make sure that their school looks good despite the fact that they cannot back up their lies. If you are looking for quality education verses a feel good education go elsewhere. Biggest mistake sending our child there.

My son adores this school and so do I! Not only is he happy, confident, learning complex ideas while having fun with them, but also he's very conscientious of his peers and the community. He opens doors for everyone and when someone is hurt he takes the initiative to go to them and ask if they're alright. He is also constantly making sure the lights are off, water isn't wasted, and wants to recycle. I am still amazed at what this school has done for my son!

My daughter attended Spectrum for Pre-Elementary, but for financial reasons we sent her to public school for kindergarten. The difference in quality of learning and personal development are staggering! Spectrum School wins, hands down! Her level of self confidence has was higher when she was attending Spectrum. Her sense of personal responsibility and self-motivation was higher when she was attending Spectrum. Her eagerness for going to school was also much higher when she was attending Spectrum. It is a big investment, but after being able to compare Spectrum to a Public school, it seems an obvious choice to send her back to Spectrum! I would highly recommend this school to any parent who values education, self-motivation, and self-confidence for their child!!

My two children have attended Spectrum for the past 4 years. It is a big investment, but it is the single best decision I have ever made regarding my children. You can not comprehend until you have seen it first hand, the amazing outcomes of an 'arts-based' education. I spend a lot of time volunteering at school, and am amazed every day at the variety and depth of material these children are taught. At 6 my child could recite the names and order of all the planets in the Solar System, the layers of the rain forest and so much more. At the same time, there is not one child who is not engaged and having fun. They learn for the pure joy of learning!

Spectrum is an arts integrated, multiple intelligences, mixed-age grouping school. Howard Gardner sends people from all over the world to Spectrum to observe his theory of multiple intelligences in practice. Spectrum focuses on teaching the process of learning and creativity and problem solving. My two children attended from K through 8 and then went to a very traditional high school. There, Spectrum kids are renowned for their creative and complex projects and their oral presentation skills. Teachers often ask where they went to school before because they are impressed with how self-motivated and personally responsible Spectrum alums are for their own learning. They are not all straight A students, but they are all intimately involved with their own learning. They can be challenging students because they ask questions until they understand the concept being presented. When looking for colleges, both my children looked for schools with educational philosophies similar to Spectrum.
