There is no reason to pay for a private school when the schools in surrounding communities are so excellent. Also, everybody I know who goes here says it's too harsh. Some left and joined the public schools. I don't want my child in a punitive environment; school is tough enough. I want happy, healthy children and I found that in the surrounding public schools, which are superior in many ways. Also, not having to pay tuition saves up money for extra activities to benefit and enrich the child.

Listen, Paul LaDuke was a bad example, but he is removed and the school education is outstanding, the school is effective.

As a prospective parent of SCS, I keep reading reviews that the school is too Conservative. IN WHAT WAYS???

I think it is sad to read statements that parents are happy with the teacher that was caught exposing himself to children because of his academic skills?! That the "media" represented him unfairly? Are you kidding me? While I don't think it is fair to judge a school based on the behavior of one teacher I find it alarming that parents would just chose to ignore what happened. God trusted me enough to give me children - and I will do every thing I can to honor that trust by protecting them from peopele like that teacher. I just wonder how long it was going on before he was caught...

My children have been attending SCS for 3 years and I had family who also attended the school. In fact, my family was taught by the very teacher you are referring to and you are sadly mistaken by what the news media presents about the man. Judge not lest ye be judged. I have been very pleased with the quality of education that my children have received. The teachers have a real concern to see the students excel in academics and character.

So in other words, despite a "christian atmosphere" your ok with sending your kids to a school, where a math teacher, who taught there for 10+ years was caught exposing himself to his students? a school where things of that nature is ok?
Our child has been attending SCS for four years and is now in third grade. Overall we are very pleased with the academic environment provided by SCS. The teachers are great and care about the students. The martial arts program is extremely beneficial, in that SCS staff brings a unique way of teaching ninjitsu to the students. We don't have to look for daycare before and after school or during the summer, as SCS provides daycare services and summer camp, which pretty much takes care of the entire year. SCS needs to improve on the number of sports offered. It would be nice if SCS offered competitive track and field, tennis, and bowling teams.

We have to 2 children that attend SCS and we are very pleased with the results in their academic development. The administration is very thoughtful and professional. Although the students overall perform exceptionally on standardized tests, some teachers are noticeably better than others as would be expected in any school. The church does have a marked influence on the school's environment, but it has not been a problem for us. We are not Baptist, but that has not diminished our sons' experience. They learn the bible and are gaining a Christian world view which isn't "watered down," which is increasingly hard to find in our secular culture. I am confident that my children are being well educated in a safe and caring environment, which is my utmost concern.

my daughter has been attending since pre-school , she in now in the 4th grade. we drive one hour each , way since we moved. i love the student/teacher ratio, music class(she now plays violin, she played piano) onsite afterschool programing, summer camps and the over all order within the school. i like that it is strict and that she is being taught godly principles. the school is perfect for us, wish there was one closer to where we live, til then 8 years to go til graduation...

This school is not tolerant of other religions what so ever!!!!! Save your kids the hardships they will face if you send them to SCS, it will not be a friendly environment at all and they will try to brainwash and convert your children. I attended this school and graduated from it and have seen and experienced the horrors that take place there.

Hi Could somebody please let me know how open this school is to students from other faiths? Thank you!
my sons have been going to schaumburg christian school for 4 years now and we are very happy w/ it. the teachers are highly qualified and are not only there to do their job but to answer a calling as well. the tuition is affordable. due to my husband's health problem, we have become a single income household. we also live 17 miles away from the school but we have decided to keep our boys there for as long as we can afford to and able to. they are not only benefitting from the excellent academics, they are also taught how to be responsible citizens and most importantly, to be godly. my only suggestion will be to increase extracurricular activities and sports.

My daughter went here when she was 3 years and left by the end of 1 st grade, I was very thankful for that foundation because it was worth all the effort in keeping her there. The teachers are excellent and very friendly. Yes! The school is strict, but for a reason; which is to allow the student to excel in all areas of life and not just academics. It' a great school, and excellent foundation for any kid.

teachers shouldnt be sarcastic..... end of story the academics are amazing the sports are minimal
The teachers here gossip more then the students. Dress code is way to strict. Very hard to find the right clothes.
As per our experience some teachers are rude, hardly respond to kids needs.......1)making kids wait to use the rest room.2) not welcoming when kids enter the classroom 3) ignoring Unique talents in kids

I have two daughters, one graduate from SCS and other is o 4th grade. I love the school and I am very pleased with the balance they have between academics, sports and morals. I recomend this school only for parents who have a real interest in having their sons/daughters to become a citizens with good morals and excellent oportunities in life. There's people out there who complains about the discipline, dress code (which is only modest clothes) or academics (which are high) buy hey, depends in the results you want. I would like to make a survey and see what kind of citizens are the people who graduate from schools like these and what kind of citizens are the people that were educated with low academics, no dress code rules and low/no discipline. If you are a parent who really cares for your children I really recommend you Schaumburg CHRISTIAN School

SCS is an excellent school. Most of the teachers are caring and committed, and they always try to integrate faith and learning in a way that the two concepts are not mutually exclusive.
