I find the negative reviews on this site completely false. My child has gone to Shiloh Middle School 5-8, and has had an amazing experience. The athletic program is not lacking as some have reported. They have a dedicated and hard working athletic director that has worked incredibly hard to bring more to the program. Better coaches, lots of intramurals for those who want to play for fun. And as far as the education she has received, we couldn't ask for more. She is well-prepared for high school. To top it off, the teachers and administration are always glad to help. I consistently get emails and updates from her teachers. Don't believe the negative reviews!

I used to go to this school several years ago. Finally i was blessed and my prayers answered, I MOVED OUT OF STATE!!!. this school was where some of the worst memories that i have experienced happened. The teachers take with a grain of salt some of them great others, not so much. the. The Superintendent personally i think her teaching licence should be revoked and she should never be allowed in a school again. the board is wacked. disciplinary staff are the worst. along with they're crooked disciplinary system. i would never send a child to this school EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The reviews say it all. The students write the reviews because they are in charge of the school. The principal has very little leadership qualities and no discipline qualities. Although it is a new school, it will get worse .

This school system, with the dictator-like leadership of the superintendent, really needs improvement. The prinicpals are her saving grace, however. The district is admittedly in the green from a fiscal standpoint but continues to charge book rental fees, typically for crappy hand-me down books. Teachers are kind, interested in the students and approachable. The school board is similarly dysfunctional with some good eggs but clearly some idiots who would bless all of us with their departure.

I go to this school, the teachers are pretty nice but not the best, and the superintendent is OK.

Parents who give bad reviews of this school are crazy. My kids go to a Christian school until 4th grade and then we put them at Shiloh for 5th - 8th. No problems, like going to a small town school with people who care. Is it perfect? No - there are no perfect schools. I also taught school for 6 years before having my own kids. I would rather send them to Shiloh then the schools that I taught at.

I agree with April 18th. The administration at the superintendant level and middle school principal need to work on people skills especially communication. Teacher and support staff are wonderful, but I wonder if they are backed up by the administration. It doesn't seem so. More needs to be offered in the way of foreign language classes, sports teams need to be revamped. If we have the chance to move, we are.

We are new to Shiloh MS this year and the curriculm my child is learning is the same material covered in 4th-5th grade at our previous school. The teachers have worked to make the materials more challenging for the transfer students, but I feel this really leaves the local students (mostly schooled at Shiloh) at a significant disadvantage. My child and others are not being taught at the curriculm level they should be/could be. I do not define our child as advanced because the curriculm at other middle schools in the area is the same/similar to that being taught at our old school. I and other parents have decided to move for the next school year. In addition (both a pos & neg) SMS feels sterile, like a juvenille prison - discipline and structure are strong. Teacher/support staff attitudes & friendliness are GREAT - GREAT!!
