Great facilities, the improvement projects are top notch. The student spaces are well thought out and the environment is clean and comfortable. Tip-top academic environ.
I am very impressed with the present movement to prepare all students for college readiness and helping students reach their maximum potential. All areas of the fine arts program is exceptional and the new science, engineering, technology, and mathematics (STEM) program and facililty is top-notch.They are also proactive regarding bullying and anti-bias issues. I would highly recommend this public school to get a well rounded, quality education in an ethnically and culturally diverse environment.
Its a good school and has many things for students in athletes and i would recommend that people should join this school.
The teachers, staff, and advisors work very hard to support the students in their development. They have a highly recognized fine arts program, strong athletic program, and many extracurricular activity options for students.
Niles North has amazing teachers, classes and extra curricular activities for all of it's students. There are many opportunities to satisfy the students' interests. It's Fine Arts Department is one of the best in the country. My son is having a great experience there!
Many of the teachers play favorites and not everyone is pushed to their limits. I wanted to take a few AP classes and my teachers/counselor wouldn't let me into them, which was absurd because I had mostly As and Bs in my honors and regular level classes. Other students were not very accepting even though Niles North was diverse. People were extremely cliquey; if you weren't a certain way, you were pretty much unaccepted by your peers.
This is such a great school. No bullies, which is great because i went to a high school before i got to niles north where there were bullies and drug dealers. But when i came here it was heaven! loved all the people in the school. I was soo lucky to be there great after school activities. Very, very nice students and staff. I should be one of the best in illinois.
The school is very well rounded and teach students how to be independent in the future and become intelligent young adults.
I am glad to have graduated from Niles North High School. I currently live in San Diego, CA and the educational system here is horrible. Niles North takes you to your limits and tests your potential. To graduate with a 3.0 GPA like I did was par. The teachers are very knowledgeable and help you as much as they can. As for homework, it can be overwhelming at times, but a little homework never killed anyone. Niles North has one of the best track teams in IL and is very culturally diverse. Go Vikings!
I agree with the amount of homework the students get. It's almost impossible for the children to have any fun time with their families and friends. Especially during the summer, when the teachers assign their future students a packet and reading to do. But the amount of diversity in this school is amazing! The teachers are highly qualified, and there's an abundance of classes offered for the different levels of every class you could think of!
unity is shown throughout the whole school, other schools dont show that bond that shines in the halls of niles north
The teachers are lazy, uncaring, dislike parent involvement and don't know the answers. Tons of homework. Principal not involved.
My son attended Niles North for one year. Academically it is first-rate; it rivals the very best public schools on Chicago's North Shore, and that's saying a lot. My only complaint is the workload; we and many other parents complained that our kids were doing hours of homework every night, on weekends, and even on holidays, and in my opinion that is not necessary for effective education. On the other hand, the kids do have every opportunity to focus on their education, because discipline problems are rare and resources abundant. The teachers are dedicated and arrange all kinds of opportunities for the kids outside of school, such as with local colleges, national competitions, etc. I recommend Niles North strongly but caution parents that in the advanced classes their children will likely be pushed to their limits, and not always in a good way.
as a former student, NNHS provides and excellent balance of eduction and extracurricular activities in preparation for college.
