The cornerstone of St. Peter School is the Catholic faith, a strong academic program, and the opportunity for every student to participate in athletics (cross country, basketball, volleyball, track) in an environment that is positive, safe and supportive of each student as a unique child of God. At St. Peter, the school day begins focused on God with daily mass; in which there is the opportunity for the students to participate as altar boys and lecturers a great way to become comfortable with speaking in public! My husband and I have children ranging from college to grade school; children who have graduated from, and who are currently attending, St. Peter Catholic School. What we spent on a Catholic education has more than paid off in college scholarship money. But more importantly, it is very rewarding to have confident young adult children with strong Catholic morals and values; especially in a society that often contradicts and mocks Christian beliefs. The current principal, secretary, educational staff, and priests of St. Peter Catholic School work together with one focus: the students!
My grandchildren are new to St. Peter School and all of the teachers and staff that I have met so far have been OUTSTANDING. The children love going to school and are doing extremely well. I am so pleased with the curriculum and know that the children will learn a great deal at St. Peter. Thank you for such an outstanding school for my grandchildren to attend!
I am so happy that we are starting my daughters education at St Peter. We have worked very hard raising her with strong values and beliefs the first 4 years of her life and I would hate to throw all that out the window with a school that doesn't share and reinforce those values. I am also very proud of the faculty, parents and community for stepping up to the plate and approving a new school. We look forward to 11 years (we have another on the way in a couple years) of being involved and proud of our decision on education and faith.
I am so glad that enrolled my son in St. Peter School. Being a teacher of a public school I see what students lack on a daily basis. These short comings are fulfilled at this wonderful Catholic school with supportive teachers and staff. You will only enrich your child's life by being part of the St. Peter Family.
St. Peter in South Beloit has been a true blessing to our family. The small class sizes make it possible to get to know all the families. The teachers are very approachable and so is the Principal. Parent involvement is huge. My 3 children have thrived both in their academic learning, spirituality (I don't know of any other school that does better in that realm) and social life. It has been a completely positive experience.
My three children have attended St Peter Catholic School for the past three years. I love the smaller educational environment and the emphasis on faith as well as academics. My children thrive at the school and I know that they and the other students are gaining the knowledge and skills to become upstanding young men and women. I strongly recommend this program.
I attended St. Peter Catholic School during the late 1960's and early '70's. I was given a solid Catholic education that helped shape and form me as the person I am today. I choose to send my only child to St. Peter's. Why? In addition to daily mass and religion, he's not just another number. Every teacher and the principal know him by name and actually care about his future. Does it matter that we have a small gym and no hot lunch program (as mentioned in the other review)? I say no. What's important is the education in the classroom. St. Peter's offers a strong curriculum, teaches self-decipline and helps your child become a strong, self-sufficient member of society.
My youngest son was small for his age and was constantly bullied by other boys. They kept pushing his books out of his arms between classes at public middle school which caused him to be late for classes. The totaled disciplinary points for tardies caused him to be suspended more days than he was in school. No teacher stopped the bullies. My son was failing and becoming depressed. I enrolled him at St. Peter school. He was happy there and did well academically. His teacher said he was courteous, had a cute sense of humor, and was an intelligent young man. He is now a hard working family man with high self esteem. I hate to think what could have happened to him if it had not been for the opportunity given to him at St. Peters.
i went to that school a few years back and i think that it was just fine the gym was small yes, but it also brought all the people in it together! and the luch program? there are less then a hundred that went there when i was there so...do u realy think that it would have been cost effective to have one? think people! well i thought all went very well through the school!
I have had 5 children go through this school starting 12 years ago, but not by my choice. Two major inadequacies are as follows: Poor facilities, especially gym and lunch facilities.Very Unsatisfactory school.
