If you have a child going to JFK, get them out now! My child went there for years and was bullied constantly coming home in tears most days. Kim Barber is a joke of a principal and Superintendent Jim Hermes is about as bad as Kim. Not only was my child emotionally scarred by going to JFK, but grades suffered as well.
Due to job changes, we have moved twice since JFK, and my child has gone to two different schools. In case your wondering, my child has received straight A's in both schools since JFK, but still has the scars left by the incompetence of the educators and students at JFK. Best decision I ever made was leaving Spring Valley and taking my child out of that horrible school.
Not a chance. This school promotes bullying and the teachers let it happen. Imagine if you will having your child isolated away from the class by sitting in the hallway all day while other children walk by and make fun of them, call them names and ridicule them? Imagine the emotional scars that are left and the feeling that leaves in your child.
Worst school I have seen in this department. Their IEP processes is worthless and is a revolving door of "people in charge". JFK's policy is to isolate those children with learning differences, whether be putting them in the office all day, or in the hallway while other children walk by and make fun of them. In my case, my child was even isolated in a closet all day no bigger than an 8 x 8 cell.
