These other stars are wrong. The parent envolvement is NONE. And the parents who want to volunteer are run off but cold unwelcoming staff. Their has been WAY to many complaints of staff screaming and yelling at the students. The only positive thing about this school is the lady in the office who is ALWAYS cheerful and welcoming. She always answers questions and if she doesn't know the answer she will go above and beyond to find the answer. If your lucky to have one of your kids get one of the few nice teachers then you are blessed. We just started this school in July and I am so unhappy with this school. Having talked to several other parents I have come to find out that I am not the only one with these feelings.

This is a year around school which works hard to make children succeed. I wish that there were more schools like this one. The teachers and staff all work together to make this a superior place for learning. Thank you Southern Vies Elementary School.

The higher expectations of the new standards will result in a downward shift of where students rank in meeting or exceeding standards.
