Davis is not just a school, it's a neighborhood and a community. The PTO schedules community building activities throughout the year that the kids love. My son has been there 3 years now and we have had 3 excellent teachers. Davis is an old building that needs renovation/rebuilding but unfortunately a referendum that would have accomplished this did not pass this year. Despite this challenge, Davis remains a wonderful learning environment and fantastic community and we are proud to be a part of it and send our other sons there in the coming years. As for the complaint about not offering more challenging curriculum for gifted students in the early grades, that is the policy of the St Charles school district, not Davis Elementary.

My son was a student there and had a very good experience!

I was going to give 5 stars and then I reconsidered. While Davis is an excellent school and the teachers are very involved in the programs they deliver, there needs to be more diversification in the curriculum offered to students depending on their intellectual level. While most student perform as expected, there needs to be consideration for those at the beginning grades that exceed expectations. Children get bored when not challenged and this needs to be considered. I don't know if all elementary education follows the same guidelines but I think skill level should drive curriculum. Other than that, the school has excellent community involvement and the staff is not a 9 to 5. Love the involvement and sense of community.

Davis School is located on the West side of the Fox River in the town of St. Charles. It is located in an older subdivision and serves children that live within walking distance of the school. Many families tend to stay in the area, so the school has a very stable population. It is not uncommon for children at Davis School to attend all six years of Elementary School there. The school has a strong PTO, with many volunteers. There is a nice blend of teachers young and old. Davis School takes overflow students from newer developments west of St. Charles. This has been typical of District 303 for the last 20 years. Residents of newer subdivisions are often surprised when their child is sent to one of the in town schools instead of the newer buildings that are closer to their home. Davis tries to welcome all. Davis has a wonderful and caring staff. Their focus is always on the individual student and his or her achievement. I have very positive and immediate responses whenever I had a concern about my child. The building is older compared to some of the others in D303 but it is always very clean and welcoming. Davis is primarily a neighborhood school and most students walk. But given the boundary dynamics of our school district, I would check before assuming that your child would attend any of the schools in, St. Charles CUSD 303.

Oops! We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Public and charter school test scores for most states come from the state Department of Education. The most common reasons we might not have this data are either that not enough students took the test or that the school was recently opened, and its scores have not yet been reported.
