Our family has had the great fortune of having children attend all 3 middle schools in St. Charles and we can sadly report that the attitudes and tension evident at this school makes me feel sad for the staff that have to work under the demands of the principal who is clearly 'in charge'. There is no comparison with the other 2 schools that are amazing and have wonderful leadership.

I have not been too happy about the fairness of discipline at the school. It seems that when there is an incident, all parties involved are not confronted and disciplined.

Thompson is how my daughter would say is an awesome school. The moment she stepped in she enjoyed it. The teachers are caring to all their students. I belive that you can have an option at this school. It is a fun school for all!

Thompson is an OK school. We have had a difficult time finding out where to go for help. Some teachers do seem to really care about their students, others do not. We feel that we have not had the support or commuincation from teachers or staff when our child has fallen behind. Progress reports arrive week(s) after the date on the report. Some being created only after questions from us as parents. We are expected to let our child become self sufficient but are still held accoutable for their actions withtout knowing what is going on until it is late in the game. Extracurricular activities are great for all areas. Parent involvement seems to be givien lip service. We, as parents are encouraged to be involved but when it comes down to it there seems to be restraint from staff and teachers.

I think that this is a school with an okay curriculum. The learning seems hard for some of the students, but the educators seem somewhat oblivious to this matter. I am currently a student, and although I do not have learning disabilities, I have noticed other students who have, and who aren't being treated. Another downside would be the over reaction to the christian faith. I for one would rather have religion in school than what the do. Now for the possitive asspects. They have good teachers who will inform you the parent if a student is behind. this school also promotes student participation in activities after school. I'll recommend Thompson.
