Found this page while looking back to see if this school existed and I am excited to find that it still does. I attended this elementary school back in '98 and can say that this was quite the experience (from what I remember). Provided a great base education and a ground for my future successes. I am currently a student of James Madison University college and I recommend this school to all parents looking for a great education for their children.
Energetic and compassionate principal as well as staff. Great parent involvement. A true sense of community.
This is our third year at Wild Rose, just when I think there is no possible way our next year's teacher can be as good as the last - I am pleasantly surprised! The teachers and staff have the ability to enrich those kids that stand out and encourge the ones that are on the 'shy side'. KUDOS to everyone at the school, especially the art, music, and PE techers that don't get have the credit that they're due! An excellent and attentive staff has always answered my questions and concerns quickly and the teachers I have encoutered are the true 'nights in shining armour!'
Wild Rose is a great school, with some terrific teachers. As with any school, there are small 'quirks' one might find, but I am very pleased with the level of education my child is receiving. If you compare this district to others across the country, you'll find that they all spend equal amount per student, but the scores, parent involvement, and safety of the children do not meet the same level. The district is a very wealthy district, which helps, however credit should be given to these teachers for working on constantly improving the school and the curriculum.
I have had two children either attending in the past or currrently attending Wild Rose. The teachers leave the class rooms unattended to talk on their cell phones and gossip in the hallways, I have reported to both the district and the principal and they are unable to control the teachers they run free.
Wild Rose is such a warm environment. The principal and staff are always available and so many moms & dads volunteer. I have a 1st and 4th grader at WR and they seem to be getting a fantastic education. The kids are polite and well behaved the majority of the time. It is a friendly school and my children are happy there!
