I am a graduate of THS. I would not recommend this school, but there is no other choice. This is a very Clique-ish school. If you dont have a 'Name' you will never fit in in this school unless you are a star athelete. But then again the whole town is like that.

I just graduated from Taylorville HS. I had a great education and learned a lot. Of course, there are some amazing teachers and some that leave a lot to be desired, but overall, the staff is great. Most of the time that issues arose between students and teachers it was because of the student's attitude rather than because the teacher was hard to get along with. The administration was generally understanding of students and faculty. Really, it was up to the student how much 'challenge' they wanted (based on course choices). Sports is definitely an important part of the HS, but there are MANY other extra-curricular activities. Though there is no PTA, parents can get involved with certain clubs. Many times parents were needed to be supervisors on weekend field trips etc. It would be nice if the school was able to utilize it's air conditioning. ($ is a factor.)

WoW I am not a parent but I have an opinion about this school. I am a senior in this building and if your child is not invloved in anything, he/she is a loser. There are plenty of things to be involved with. Choir, band, jazz band, art club, science club, Fellowship of christian athletes, and many many more.

The one thing I dislike about this school is if your child is not in sports or band there is no place for parent involvement. Principal is totally against starting a PTA. I am not happy at all with this school.
