Good school. Could be better without such a high turnover of teachers. The good ones tend to stay, though. Great facilities.

Our three children attend Wheaton Christian Grammar School. We love the way the teachers integrate Biblical truth into every subject. As parents, we appreciate the support of the administration, faculty and staff. The school family is truly a community that cares for one another.

I have had a very poor experience with administration. The school is equipped with everything, test scores are excellent, but I have found much better caliber Christian elsewhere. I would never send my child there again and have been thrilled with their new Christian school, where they don't just talk about doing God's will, but they actually live it. I believe there are better private schools in the area.

Wheaton Christian Grammar School is outstanding! They thoroughly follow their mission to, 'train and nurture children toward godliness and excellence.' We have three children at WCGS, beginning seven years ago. They teach to develop a biblical worldview in students. All the teachers, regardless of their age, are mature Christians who speak of their walk with Christ. Students are held to a high standard in academics and character. We are grateful for the positive role models that the facility are for our three children.

My children both attended this school and it was outstanding. It really exceeded our expectations in preparation for high school, and a nurturing Christian environment. Their teachers were amazing. Our kids made friends they still know and enjoy. I can't really think of anything we didn't like about Wheaton Christian Grammar School.

I am thrilled with this school and the level of education all 3 of my kids are getting. I wouldn't want them anywhere else; the parents and children are involved, included, and encouraged on so many levels. Keep up the Great Work!

We have enjoyed the school but have had issues with an under performing academic environment.

I went to this school and just graduated and thought it was better than the public schools in my district. I liked some of the teachers but I disliked some as well. I think the quality of the school has recently gone down a bit. Overall, though, I had a good experience here. 4 out of 5 stars.

We have had all three of our children attend this school, and they have received an excellent education. Then we took them to our public high school, and there was no educational gap between institutions. The teachers and staff really care about the kids, their education, and their eternal destiny.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

More from this school
  • Wheaton Christian Grammar School is a place where academic excellence is coupled with vibrant faith. Character development, positive peer relationships, and strong preparation for the future are foundational. The school has been educating, training, and nurturing students for godliness and excellence since 1942. WCGS features a challenging curriculum and a biblical worldview. In the fall of 2010, WCGS moved to a new, 35-acre, technology-rich campus. It offers numerous co-curricular activities, athletics, and service opportunities. The school is accredited (ACSI, NCA CASI), has full nonpublic school recognition from the State of Illinois, and employs certified, well-qualified teachers who are mentors and role models. One of the most significant aspects of the school experience is the strong, caring community. Wheaton Christian Grammar School offers both full-day and half-day kindergarten options, and makes available before and after-school care. WCGS provides weekly, informal open house opportunities each Tuesday morning (9-10 a.m.) when school is in session. In addition, after-hours open house events are scheduled periodically during the year. Applications are now being accepted for the 2011 school year.
